Description
, and I are all big Leliana fans, so here's all our male Wardens who romanced the bard fighting over her. XDTaiyama and Legam are both mages, while Aedan is a human noble. I decided not to put him in armor since I wasn't sure what he wears the most... Besides, Leliana likes to dress him up in fancy outfits.
And no, none of us hardened her after her personal quest. Perhaps we should have, then Taiyama, Aedan and Legam might not be in such a predicament.

Aha, this picture is really funny! The bard seems rather pleased to be the center of all this attention ^^
You could harden Leliana? I never known! And what would she do, then?

TheDalishRanger In reply to Lweeling [2010-03-14 18:52:24 +0000 UTC]
Yup. After her quest with Marjolaine. You can have her embrace her bardic past more. She reverts back to some of her older ways and lets go of some of the Chantry stuff (Not all of it, but she doesn't talk about the Maker as much). The main reason I bring it up in the image though, is because if she's romanced and hardened, she can join the Warden and Isabela at the Pearl in a threesome... Foursome if you invite Zevran.

For this instance, perhaps. XD In general? I prefer not letting Leliana embrace her past. I find that backtracking her progress.

Leliana is definitely my favortie girl to date in the game as much as I love Morrigan she gets kina weird when you start dating her.

Thing is, all the men here would be out of character if they did harden her. Plus, the three of us that play them prefer a non-hardened Leli anyway.

I haven't hardened Alistair yet either, but that's mainly because I've yet to play a Warden that would tell him, "Everyone is out for themselves." My Brosca and Tabris would, but I haven't gotten that far with them.

I harden him once when I played as a guy because I wanted him to want to be king.

TheDalishRanger In reply to Eighmy-Lupin [2010-03-11 23:09:02 +0000 UTC]
While I realize he makes a better king hardened/enjoys it better, Legam's canon leaves him unhardened and makes Alistair king with Anora as queen. The in-character reasoning is that Legam would prefer to let Alistair get what he wants, but putting him on the throne for Anora is the best compromise they have at the moment, and then they can finally get to the Blight issue.
Is it an ideal situation? No. But that makes it more realistic to me, I think. I try my best not to meta-game when I'm playing a certain character type. Which is also why Harrowmont becomes king in Legam's plays, even though I know Bhelen leads the dwarves to a better future. Legam can't know that, doesn't know much about dwarven culture/politics, and up-front, Harrowmont comes off as more honorable, which would appeal to softie Legam.
But the worst things can happen from good intentions. Such is life.

lol awesome
The first playthrough I did I wasn't aware she could be hardened...I chose the wrong dialogue options...
So naturally when I chose to sacrifice myself at the end, my lover Leliana ended up committing suicide later on! T_T
I like her more hardened. She's still sweet and adorable, but less Chantry bollocks and she goes back to being the real Leliana from Orlais.
awesome fanart too. I see you've been improving a lot. I haven't commented much, but I've seen your stuff at the livejournal group

TheDalishRanger In reply to Lyn-Zo [2010-03-11 19:10:08 +0000 UTC]
See, I like her a lot better unhardened. Personally, while not particularly religious myself, I think, for the most part, the Chantry life has done good for her and I don't see the benefit in telling her to embrace her past. That just makes her into what Marjolaine was using her for all those years. But, it's a personal preference thing in the end.
Also, I don't sacrifice Legam, so the way the ending goes with Leliana is a moot point, as they both survive to stay together.
I've been getting that a lot lately. I think I've gotten better at drawing these characters, but my overall art is the same. I say this based on my skills on my non-DA fan art drawn around the same time as my early works. They're up to par with my current stuff.

Bah, it should be a female Warden who romances her! Well, at least mine did. My male one romanced Morrigan. I'm going for Zevran next.
But yay for Leliana fandom art!

TheDalishRanger In reply to rawkysand [2010-03-11 19:07:00 +0000 UTC]
I have nothing against femslash Leliana, but my main Warden is Legam (not my first Warden, but my main). Plus, in my experience there's far more representation of Leliana's romance with a female Warden in the fandom than there is for a male Warden, so I like representing the m/f pairings.

rawkysand In reply to TheDalishRanger [2010-03-11 19:53:59 +0000 UTC]
Really? Now *I* have a difficultly finding femslash Leliana! I think I only found two or three on dA. Well maybe cos your M/F Leliana takes up most Leliana fandom here on dA!

TheDalishRanger In reply to rawkysand [2010-03-11 20:00:02 +0000 UTC]
Probably. But I speak more in terms of fanfiction; there's far more fanfiction than fan art floating around. Also, on my Maker's Breath comm on LJ, everybody but me and pretty much post femslash. And most players I know who romanced her did so as a female Warden, regardless of whether they write/draw fan works. But as I said, that's fine. Leliana IS bisexual, after all.

Well, you are right in terms of fanfics, but I'm more interested in fanarts! I prefer to read books than fanfics.
No femslash in Mass Effect 2 so me is all about Leliana!

Usually I prefer fan art, but Dragon Age has me liking (and doing) both. I stayed loyal to Ashley in ME2, so the romances options are a bit of a moot point.

I stayed loyal to Liara cos well, Garrus, Thane or Will Smith ain't for me. Though if I played male Shepard, I couldn't hell stay loyal to either Liara or Ashley!
Ah, fantastic, cheers for the link! I'll check it out in a mo!

I hadn't done fanfics in almost a decade, so that says something about my fangirlishness for Dragon Age, methinks. xD; I liked all the new characters, and while I played an alt Shep to romance Miranda, I always intended to stay loyal to Ashley with my main Shepard - partly because I want to see what happens to those of us that stay loyal throughout the ME series to our ME1 LIs, and partly because Ashley is my favorite companion from ME1 (I know, I know... I'm an endangered species in that regard.
)
Awesome! You're welcome.

I think last time I wrote a fanfic was 2 years ago? I have been writing some recently but it sucks! Ha ha.
I love the new characters, they're SO MUCH more interactive than the ME characters. I think they got more soul to them too. I mean, this is the great thing of Bioware making a sequel - they improve on SO much areas! Miranda kick ass.
And I agree. There better be some hot scenes with Liara in ME3 as result of staying loyal!

The new cast had so much more dialogues and more history, so I loved the interactions.

I can understand that. I did like the level of interaction in ME2 more, though the romances felt more rushed than they did in ME1 for me. Maybe it's because the main plot was in some ways less linear than the first game, so there could be less time between romance conversations? I dunno.

o.O That's the first time I've seen the term "harden" used in such a manner. Is that the same for romance? Or am I missing something?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
TheDalishRanger In reply to PepoFaec [2010-03-11 19:04:13 +0000 UTC]
Harden refers to personality. Regardless of romance, you can harden Alistair and Leliana after their personal quests. Alistair becomes more assertive and more willing to be king if you do, and Leliana embraces her bard past more. She also becomes willing to participate in a threesome/foursome at the Pearl with Isabela, the Warden and possibly Zevran at the Pearl if you harden her. That's what I was referring to.
