I forgot how much I hate coloring penciled artwork. If I had inked this, while the lines would have been harsher (and the wings subsequently sucky), it would have taken me a fraction of the ten or so hours this took to color. But I'm very happy with the result. I'd been trying all week to come up with a new outfit and pose for this character. I still can't do wings at all...Anyway, this was done with a mere 20 layers in Photoshop, and at this resolution the details of her eyes and gauntlet gems are utterly lost. Oh well, enjoy! I feel accomplished...

Hahahaha... well, my original attempt was to have her surrounded by flames. Fire is hard to get to look good, though, so this was the result. I would have liked a little more definition to the flames. It's supposed to be part of her redemption test, to endure holy flames... Oh well.

I personally think that your wings are great. Hey, they don't look like pigeon's wings, like mine always look! It's not very gorgeous when you draw an angel with pigeon wings... It looks ridicilous.
Anyway, I love the pose, and outfit. The sword is my favorite part, though. I am obsessed about swords... A little too obsessed, maybe.

Thanks, I was pretty happy with the sword myself. I think I'm going to try making it for real. If/when I do, you can be sure I'll post a photo.

Awww, shucks... it's not that great. You do some awesome stuff too. You should post some of the things from your sketch book. And 20 layers happens when you do each color on its own layer, then have 2 layers for the fire.
