snappy gallery but I think I am detecting a theme.... have you planned what your last every deviation will be?

Ha! My last deviation.....?
I have suffered from massive degenerative heart disease for a few years, and although I had a bypass last year, they have told me I ain't got that long. Doesn't bother me one jot, but now you have put that into my head I will have to give it some thought. Last deviation? Mmmmmmmm......... Something to go out with a bang, methinks.

opps... you won't believe I just this night finished watching "the bucket list"
I was thinkin with all the swans the last might be called swan song but I shouldn't try to be funny.. it could backfire. I'm sure you'll be around for heaps! Its all that relaxed houseboat living

photonig In reply to Sun-Seeker [2009-07-08 14:30:56 +0000 UTC]

LOL! I don't think I could make a 'bucket list'. I think I have done everything I wanted to do. I've had an interesting life, to say the least. The swans drive me mad banging on the windows after food, I wouldn't want my last dev to be about those buggers!

You know what, I think my last dev would be a shot of Inominate Tarn in the Lake District in the UK. Thats where I want my ashes scattered.

How bloody morbid. I ain't planning on going anywhere yet, and my doc reckons I can keep going for a good while yet. Yep, living on a boat is as relaxing as it gets. I might annoy everyone, and still be around when I have gone mad....That'll teach em. I'll drive everybody nuts.

Show off or aggressive? I like them, but when they start lifting their feathers, I want to grab the paddle for defense purposes.

I was feeding this one, and it kept climbing up the boat to get to me. They are big buggers up close!

Big buggers? How about huge! And feisty, too!

photonig In reply to Esteficita [2009-06-29 13:22:58 +0000 UTC]

I feed them by hand, and they are always grabbing my fingers. I love em, though.

Yeah, one actually pulled my cousin off our boat when we were children. Stupid of her to not let go of the bread, but that swan insisted on having the bread and wasn't going to let go either!

They are pretty to look at, but their temper and my temper usually clash...

It stands out better with a black background. If you keep the original in sometimes it just ends up being a snap shot... well that's my opionion. Hope you had a good nights sleep

Good morning Debbie. Just got up to a dull day. I am just making coffee before going for a sit on the deck.
Thanks a lot for the fave of 'showin off'. I always like a very contrasty shot with a black background. Luckily the water in this was almost black anyway, so all I had to do was darken it a little and get rid of a couple of highlights.
Hope you have a nice Sunday.
I am on duty with my volunteering tonight. 10.30 until 2.30am, so I am just going to chill today.

You've never told me about your volunteering. I take it it's the Samaitants then? How are you getting on? It's a bit dull here as well. I'm off to sit outside now with my morning cuppa and bowl of cereals. Enjoy your day and have a good evening shift.

Not bad at all. I guess the hot and steamy is probably 20* - 23* or so (around 70* - 75*)

Thanks a lot for the fave, Dennis.
Yes, our hot and steamy is probably about 75! I know what you are going to say, and I agree. We Brits are softies. I worked for ages in Nigeria, so I know what real hot and steamy is, and I don't want any more of THAT. Thank you very much!!!

Ha ha! One of the reasons we're moving North is the mean average temperature in [link] . is approx 15* throughout the year. Where we're at present can vary between -1* or -5* to + 40plus each year. Being nearly 64, and having suffered the stroke, is making it harder to live in the extremes. Same as I wouldn't care to live in Darwin, or Alice Springs either. Probably nice to visit though.

Perhaps you and I should buy adjoining villas in some temperate clime, where the weather is kind, and the culture is stimulating......I wish!!

We've got a $90 000 000 Lotto on Tuesday, probably $94m or $95m by the time it's drawn. I'll have a piece of that thanks, then I'll be on your door.

Welcome Cap'n.. Well so far..it's hot and muggy..and I spent about 3 hours connecting a new cable box (for the digital switchover)...as my old equipment didnt get all the channels..and I had such a tangle of splitters and switches for the old setup I kept disconnecting the wrong line lol.. then I had to install the air conditioners in the upstairs..its been so muggy in the mornings dressing for work.. but those things are done.. just have the lawn to cut tomorrow.. then I can sit and relax.. but it's good to get all that done.. I would much rather be sitting in the welldeck with a bawdy englishman drinking cold tea..

photonig In reply to davincipoppalag [2009-06-27 21:22:22 +0000 UTC]

It's warm and muggy here, too. We have a digital switchover later in the year, but I think I'm all ok for that.
Funny you should mention the tea. I have just made some and put it in the fridge for tomorrow. I have my volunteer work overnight tomorrow, so I'm doing nothing all day but doze and read and drink iced tea.
