Background:
Maximilian was born into a politically and economically influential family, his parents owning a successful international hotel chain under the Starling name. At such a young age, Maximilian and his sister were not subjected to expectations and were allowed to live a carefree life, contrary to popular belief. If one would ask Max about the most significant aspects of his life, it would be that he was a very meek and soft-spoken child, in comparison to his younger sister who was the epitome of charisma and independence. As a child, he was teased a lot - as what occurs with siblings. However, as a result, Maximilian developed a sense of pride and did whatever he could to maintain his own reputation.

So growing up, he kept to his studies and developed a love for learning - which was soon reflected in how intelligent he grew in his teenage years. He competed and won in several science and math competitions growing up, which resulted in a growth of confidence in his behalf. At the age of 16, he studied abroad in the US to attend a prestigious boarding school. This was a significant part of his life, as this decision reflected on his goals in expanding his parents' business in the future in the US. Upon graduation at the age of 18, he attended a reputable military academy and undertook Aeronautical Engineering. Throughout his years at the academy, his grades and reputation became exceptional; soon becoming some kind of golden child during his stay. He graduated at with honours and completed his Masters at the age of 22. By 24, he was the official Managing Director for the Starling Hotel.

If there was anything that being alone in another country taught him, it was to pretty much trust no one. Thus, Maximilian found himself worrying over every detail in the hotel, from the seasoning to the special dishes to the security of the premises. During the next few years, being in charge allowed him to take the initiative to expand his knowledge on how the security functioned as well as the mechanics of emergency procedures. At this point, Maximilian developed a comprehensive understanding of cyber security and software technology.

By 28, he returned to the initial military academy he attended to do his PhD, whilst assisting as a tutor on the side. However, his academic performance and talents were well-known to the higher-ups of the academy - and soon to neighbouring universities - which resulted in an invitation to attend Northshore Commandos on a full scholarship in exchange for his participation in their government program. Aware of his family's military background, this would've been a great opportunity for him to excel and accepted with fervour.

From the very first moment anyone makes contact with Maximilian, the first thing one will notice about him is his overbearing confidence. Though he doesn't explicitly state his confidence, it's implied through his straight posture, his never-faltering smile and his lack of stutter or breaks in his speech. However, his confidence is only a result of his intelligence. Max is exceptionally smart - in terms of being educated and his experience in the family business and in his previous military school. Nevertheless, he has never let his confidence nor his intelligence get to him and is still quite a happy-go-lucky guy. Max is a pretty jolly guy at the end of the day and displays enthusiasm to those he meets.

A trait that is fairly prominent in Max is how flashy he is, in terms of appearance and communication. Far from down to earth, he loves nothing more than high-end perfumes and 100% leather gloves. Safe to say that he's also not a people-person. Though he is capable of being empathetic to others, there's a limit to how much he cares. On the bright side, he's business-minded and capable of being professional, however, he never really stops being just that. A fair thing to note is just how clumsy Maximilian is. That's not to say he'll consistently drop things on the feet of others, but he is merely uncoordinated. His height only contributes to this factor. More often than not, he'll trip on air or run into door frames, which... pretty much hinders his daily life.

Maximilian is one thing at the end of the day: egotistical. This developed as a result of his sister who made fun of him constantly when growing up - and due to his pride as the older sibling, he grew to be egotistical as a sort of... displaced confidence for himself. Clearly to him, there is no one better than he is (or at least, he'll convince himself as much as he can to prevent feelings of insecurity). On another note, despite being business-minded, Max still cares about the wellbeing of others, no arguments there. However, Max is very tactless when it comes to the issues of others, and is quick to judge others should he view their issues as trivial or easy to solve. He views himself as a very busy man, and if someone's issues are trivial to him, he's very blunt in the way he expresses his opinion. Even if not directly related to him, he prefers if people kept their issues out of his view unless he saw them as worth discussing. Subsequently, it's fair to say that Max is pretty narrow-minded. Though not completely unwilling to listen to the views of others, he is usually stuck on the opinion that he is always right and if anyone assumes otherwise, he will fail to give them the light of day (or succeed in ignoring them completely).
