Description
For a competition at Blender Artists forum I'm making a one week game. It's going to be a proof of concept game to explore an idea I had a while back about a build your own tank game.
Here are some of the components that can be used to build a vehicle from the ground up. You get to add armor, engines, suspension, guns and other various extras to make a tank of your dreams.
Then fight it out against other tanks and infantry in an old school RTS environment.

And with "building your own tank" you mean what exactly? You mean the whole form/model of the tank is free to be build? Only the components are there to be added? Sounds perfect..

Thanks for the reply. I've only got 7 days so the visual representation of the tank won't be as affected as I'd like, but internally you can do what ever you like with the tanks, adding turrets, an engine of your choice, different types of suspension, any one of a number of different guns... there will be a technology mechanic in the game play so you'll be limited in what you can add at first, but by the end of the game only your imagination will be the limit.
Anyway, visually there will be changes like having a turret or sponsons not, having sloped armor or not, having a big or small gun... it'll depend on the tank you make.
I also want to include infantry and planes but I don't know if I have time.

There's still a few gun types to be added and I want to add some plane parts too for designing planes for the game, if I get time.
The contest has rules that prevent me using high res textures, and I have to design the game to run in 512x480 resolution, so that's why the items are so small.
