Description Finally finished with her! I also got some better photo backgrounds than the butting board I've been using haha. Unfortunately white on white looks washed out. I couldn't take the photos of her in the sun because it made too many shadows and just looked strange. I took a lot of photos but I chose 6 to show you guys. The fur kept moving every time I touched her to turn her or move her head. So the red markings will probably look different in each photo. The thick stitches and brushed fur look good in person but in some of the photos I was like O.o? Especially around the head since that is much thicker yarn. Anyway, her she is!

This is fabulous. You are brilliant when it comes to capturing the lithe grace of the animals/creatures I have seen you do. It is especially impressive to me, because it seems that you do them on a smaller scale than what I deem "normal" size (I can't do "small" amigurumi, so my things are usually 10 to 12 inches tall. It is just easier on my hands). Can't wait for future endeavors.

Thank you! I dreaded doing the shoulder details, but in the end I love that part the best.

Thank you so much! I think this project I had the most doubts about being able to translate into crochet. All the pictures I found of her made her look different each time. None of the swirls ever looked the same and they were always in different places.

The shoulders especially were tricky I'm like this part is going to be so difficult! I sort of lost confidence and that's why it took me forever to actually put on any pieces besides the basic wolf body. Surprisingly the shoulder piece is my favorite part lol

Thank you so much! I'm really excited to hear from the person who commissioned it to see how they like the final result! I'm going back to work on human patterns now. I'm making a pirate for the contest and I think she will be pretty cute

I can't wait to see it! I bet your humans will look awesome! Have you done any before that I might've missed or is this entirely new?

Pickleweasel360 In reply to Feather-Dragon [2013-01-09 03:46:20 +0000 UTC]

Issun was the first human character I made. But I got a whole bunch of thinner yarn so I can make larger detailed pieces but still have them come out small. Kind of like how the MLP is. I used the same kind of yarn. It was larger technically than my prototype but since it was thin it came out the same size.

June went a little crazy and says I should make all these characters lol [link]

Thank you so much! I'm hoping to make them even cuter. I have to get the balance between the head and body though. I like the cutesy look of the big headed ones but I want them to be a little more realistic than that.

Feather-Dragon In reply to Pickleweasel360 [2013-01-14 11:54:24 +0000 UTC]

Even cuter? Oh dear, I had better prepare myself!

I'd love to see what you do with that. It'll be interesting if you get the people to look more proportionate.

I love her
Did you paint the swirls and red markings?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Pickleweasel360 In reply to Swedish-Freak [2013-01-09 03:33:46 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! Yes I used fabric markers to paint the black and red swirls. The red one has a bad habit of smearing to all the white around it but the black did really well.

Thank you! I think I like the shoulder swirlies best and I dreaded doing them the most. I used some foam discs under the flame to give it a little height. Its attached by pins so its removable

MilesofCrochet In reply to Pickleweasel360 [2013-01-10 21:55:08 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, they turned out very nice. Silly shoulder swirlies. And I thought I saw foam, that's a clever idea.

Thank you :3

The foam discs are actually the pieces that are in a box of CD's to keep them from touching the bottom lol I just happened to have two of them and they were the perfect size XD
