Updated 4/11/2013: Fixes a timezone issue with conversion.
A simple userscript that shows deviantART standard time in your menubar alongside your local time.
This has a multitude of uses such as when you come across a contest or event and need to check the time posted (normally based on deviantART HQ time) versus your local time. Simply check the difference in the menubar and then work the time for the event out! Or when posting a help desk ticket, you can check the time at deviantART's HQ to include as a reference.

Install For Firefox here !
Requires Mozilla Firefox and the Greasemonkey extension.
Or Chrome by following instructions below:
1) Go and download the script here to your computer.
2) Open Extensions (wrench/three lines icon -> Tools -> Extensions) in Chrome.
3) Drag and drop the saved file onto this window and click Install.
Not compatible with Tampermonkey at this stage (breaks Message Center for no reason at all), it is being worked upon.

It may work in Opera already unsure. And IE as far as I know does not support user scripts.

I checked out the visual by ^PurpelBlur and was staggered to see it was suggested FIVE YEARS AGO (in 2008)!!
This is such a great idea, and so well implemented.
I modified mine to give 24 hour clock display. Perhaps a second (24hour version) for download for those who prefer that but don't know how to change the code?
btw, it also works in Pale Moon (which is basically an OS specific optimised version of FireFox).

Originally it was a 24 hour clock but I decided to change to be a 12 hour clock after discussing it with some other users. I have debated making it a setting. But it isn't worth doing currently.

Yeah it's always best to go with the majority on something interface/useability related.
It's a while since I looked at java/jscript but is there any way to read the 12/24 hour setting from the system? It would be easier to have it just auto set to the user preference... just a thought.

Don't believe these is a way to check the time setting of the system clock. I will look into it though.

Not surprised. Not sure what the hell Tampermonkey does to cause the problems but you can install it normally along side Tampermonkey.
