EDIT 10/02/15: If you're doing inktober I strongly recommend you to take a look at this tutorial! I've been getting a ton of questions that can be answered here c:Β
EDIT 10/05/2015: Fehnryr suggested an amazing site for editing your traditional art pics if you want an alternative from photoshop & softwares. Use www.ribbet.com/ Β to raise contrasts, make colors pop and make your pics as great as the real life drawings! Thank you Fehryr for the suggestion!!
EDIT 10/04/2016: It's that time of the year again! how are your inktobers going?

Thanks so much! I'll note that I don't have a problem with shaky lines with traditional media, but I do have the problems when I work with a stylus on my iPad. I think it's because I'm pretty much drawing on glass with no real tactile feedback.Β

May i ask, what did you use for the stars constellations on the owl one, white ink? a correction pen?Β

you can buy white gel pens anywhere pretty cheaply, or use white nail polish, acrylic paint, or correcter to achieve the same results :3

Oooh, thanks a lot! I think I might try Inktober next year and keep practising now. The things you discussed seem simple but I never thought about them before, for example thinner lines in the background, thicker for closer things. I never draw backgrounds but I suppose it can be used for clothing, too. Somehow.

For people that don't have fancy programs to edit their traditional art in, there is a great photo editing website called ribbet.com that I use for cleaning up all my photos. The "Orton" effect does wonders for drawings that have a little bit of sketch still visible in the bg. It applies just enough contrast to make the sketch invisible, and really makes the end piece pop.

This was an immense help! I found that your way of explaining was precise and to the point, while being understandable. I've always had a problem with line art, and I couldn't really place my finger on what was making me dislike it so much. Now I'm very happy that I've found out what I need to improve on. Thankyou!

Many thanks!Β Β
