Description
Decided to draw Miu from Ichigo Marshmallow! She's such an adorable bratgirl
I'm quite pleased with how my characters are turning out. Although, I think I should take a little more time to study backgrounds and other things - I feel like they kinda let my drawings down a bit, ahah...
Also, I really do think that the eye style (or any other part of the art style), essentially is what defines the character. So, I tried to replicate the Ichigo Marshmallow eye style here, too.

Yah, you got those derpy yet cute eyes pretty damn perfect
Gotta love that pose, pretty much screams brat
Hmm, do you really enjoy doing backgrounds? I won't say they're bad (in fact I like the painty style), but they definitely kinda seem slapped on sometimes. You could study backgrounds... But If you're not having fun with them no need to keep doing it
Remember, we're here for the cute girls

Ahahah
Thanks~
Yeahh... To be honest, I don't actually enjoy them too much, and I guess it does kinda show, haha
Buttttt at the same time, they make things look so much better! I think I should just study them as you say, and then perhaps I'll enjoy them more!
Hehehe~

Ahh yes, that Eye Style Conundrum~ It really IS in the how the eyes are drawn that portrays an artist's style.
Im always kind of envious of other artists who can mimic another anime or cartoon's style flawlessly~ Something I'd like to be able to do with my art someday...
Can't say I'm familiar with Ichigo Marshmallow, but I do like this style you have going here~ what with the thick black lineart, deep shading. Almost looks like a cel ripped right from an anime!
Keep it up, dude!

Hehehee
I dunno if it's flawless exactly, but I tried! Haha~
For my original drawings, I'll use my own style. But, for fanart I will try as much as possible to recreate the appearance of the character. I think you could actually learn a lot from trying out all kinds of different styles!
Hehe, I love it~ It's so cute and funny!
Oooh! You noticed I used a thicker brush for lineart! Haha, yeah. I was experimenting and I kinda like it.
Thaaaankkksss!

haha for sure! I was always a fan of thick lineart (and bold shading)~ as evident in my own drawings.
And yeah, at the very least, I always try to replicate the character's face when I do fan art. But alas, my style (like the way I draw eye or face shapes, for example) still really show through when I do so @_@;;

Haha, I know that feeling
I used a picture of her face for reference, so I didn't "drift" into my own version

Hehee. It's a lot of effort and it can even seem boring, but I think it's worth it!
