Yeah, this is one that makes me head desk more than I should. This is for the rabid, weak-minded, so-called "Christians" who think anything related to science is evil, and for the anti-theists and anti-religion folks in general who have this arrogant attitude that their faith in science (scientism) makes them mentally superior, and those who have a religion can not possibly contribute to science.

You're both wrong.

To those of weak faith: science is studying God's design and creation for the sake of knowledge, and can go hand in hand with religion. While a knowledge in science is not necessary to worship and grow in your relationship with God, it is still a lot of fun and can do a lot of good for God's creation. Both creationists and theistic evolutionists have contributed to society and their love for God is reflected in their scientific works.

And if you're a secular evolutionist, then congrats. Just recognize the fact that believing in God is not contradictory to practicing science.

Funny how atheists claim to be for logic yet fall prey to logical fallacies such as false dichotomies. Very funny.

Agreed. I'm a "fundamentalist" Christian who is actually getting a degree in the science field. They don't have to contradict, but it's the people behind them who don't want the two to coexist.

... You don't have "faith" in science. Science just is.

Unfortunately, too many secularists, especially anti-theists, like to use it as grounds for their beliefs and get offended when someone expresses their doubts about certain theories and such.

Well, scientific fact and proven natural events often are the foundation for non-religious thinking, because it fills in the gaps in our world with actual provable reality, instead of religious speculation. To express doubt in a theory is scientific in nature, because the very base of scientific thinking is to question everything. But to question something that has been irrefutably proven, for example gravity or evolution, doesn't strengthen an argument for religion. Besides, what you say about anti-theists getting offended when people question science can easily be said for religious individuals who get offended by science. It's one of those useless arguments where no one gets anywhere because no one is willing to budge.

I do appreciate that you say anti-theist and not atheist, by the way. As there is a difference.

You're very welcome.

And no worries, I pointed both the problems out in my description, albeit briefly. XD Both the angry anti-theists and the closed-minded religious nuts claw at science in ways it shouldn't be.

Win. I've been saying this, myself. Usually to some rather stuck up atheists. I'm not religious, but I utterly hate the narcissistic elitism displayed by so many atheists. Most of my religious friends actually tend to be quite rational.
