Description
My first Closed Species! I had a lot of fun creating both them, their lore and this sheet.Since this is a Closed Species, please don't make your own.
STORY
The florafae have always existed besides us. They are everywhere, if you only know how and where to look...
They are as old as human memory and were here before the records.
FloraFae Legend tells that they arrived during a meteor strike, the impact causing a temporary link between several dimensions. The species was stranded amongst planets, stars and universes. They adapted, survived and made little places for their own to call 'home'.
INFO / TRIVIA
- Due to the original nature of the FloraFae sometimes traits and wings show up that are not native to that universe. This is due to the "Meteor Cataclysm" that FloraFae legend speaks of. These traits are from their original home. They were common there but now they are a rarity, some almost extinct. (Examples of these are the Galaxy wings and the horned crowns. Any animal related traits such as cat ears or deer antlers do not fall under this.)
- A white monarch is the equivalent of King Arthur pulling Excalibur out of the stone. They are not born this way and it’s rarely a monarch-wing type initially. They are the “Moonkissed”. A white monarch’s wings will experience their first monarch bloom under the light of a full moon. It doesn't always mean they are destined to become royalty either. It's more like a prophecy of great things to come...Usually including great danger. Most heroes of the old Florafae Epics are Moonkissed. Gaining their new wings at the start of the stories or after completing a heroic task. Their petals, the markings are iridescent.
- Blooming: All children are born with their wings fused to their backs like tattoos. They are called “petals”. They experience their blooming when their wings release from their backs and cannot fly until then.
- After the initial blooming the fairy can retract their wings into their petal form at will. Depending on the size of the wings the markings can be limited to just the back(common) or even expand to the arms (uncommon) or back of their legs (legendary, so rare it's not even pictured.)
- Petalling the wings on a day with good weather, especially in company, is considered very rude. Their wings are considered part of their identity and status. Hiding them would mean the fairy in question has things to hide and cannot be trusted.
--> The wings will not be destroyed by rain but the fairy becomes unable to fly until they have dried
--> Wings are cleaned with damp clumps of cotton or a soft cloth in a dapping motion. Florafaes whose wings remain too small to fly after reaching adulthood or lose them in an accident can gain access to prosthetic wings. They are a combination of technology and magic. They cannot petal onto the back so they have to be manually removed for any water related activities – but they fly like the real thing. Some prosthetic wings can even fly during rainfall. Though they are seen as unnatural and less accepted.

Eventually yes. Not right now because I need to figure out and research how they work first. Never done or joined one of them before so I currently have no clue
What I do know is that the first custom designs/MYO slots that I'll ever do will be common traits only (and maybe 1 animal traits slot)
