Description

“Alright, we finally made it.” Isaac panted at the end of the path way up the mountain.

Sparkle, Isaac, and BB traveled a long ways toward their next dungeon. Craggy Coast. Sparkle plopped on the ground. She could hear the waves of the sea nearby. Where Isaac was standing, they could see the sea. Sparkle fell on her back, worn out.

“Can we like, rest?” Sparkle wined. “We’ve been traveling for hours, Isaac. We should of stopped below the cliff where the forest is and rest.”

“But if we go through this dungeon,” Isaac protested. “We’ll be at Rock Path and practically be almost there. It was what we agreed on to reach first. Come on, don’t be lazy.”

“I’m not lazy!” Sparkle snapped, sitting up. BB was just behind her. “We’ve been traveling nonstop since we left. I get you want to get there, but we have limits. I’m tired and look, it’s freakin’ sunset already, gosh darn it. Let’s climb back down and continue in the morning, Isaac.”

“What?!” Isaac exclaimed. “Then we would have to climb back up! We can stay here then.”

“You’re crazy.” Sparkle grumbled, folding her arms. “You might be used to rocky cliffs and mountains, but I sure as heck not. My feet are killing me, especially on these rocks. There’s no way I’m sleeping on them.”

“You’re just being ridiculous.” Isaac folded his arms. “If we just stay here, we can get up and move right away, than climbing all the way back up. It’s a waste of time.”

Sparkle rolled her eyes, “Yeah, totally, you think that sleeping here will be faster. It won’t. If BB and I sleep on these rocks, we’ll have trouble sleeping and probably won’t get any sleep at all and that’ll be a waste of time. Let’s just go back down so we can sleep on comfortable ground and we’ll get up early in the morning to climb back up and continue.”

“I pretty much agree on this, by golly” BB said, shyly. “Sleeping on rocks hurts, and I’ve done it before. Yup. Yup.”

Isaac mumbled to himself, then sighed, still looking a bit angry. “Fine, let’s go.”

Sparkle sighed and laid down in the grass when they reached the grassy ground, nearby was some woods area. So Sparkle was a bit more comfortable having something over her head that wasn’t rock. BB got some supplies out for a small camp. Isaac started to build some nests and snapped at BB when he tried to help. BB was a bit confused, but shrugged it off and worked at his own pace, which he managed to finish up and have a fire and three nests surrounding it for the night. Once everything was completed, Sparkle and BB started talking.

“So you’re from where?” Sparkle asked, while eating a Pecha Berry.

“A small river, far from here.” BB answered.

“Oh really?” Sparkle tilted her head. “I thought you lived nearby or something.”

BB shook his head, “Nope, nope. Despite Bidoofs that are nearby, my family was practically on the other side of this entire land. Near the far mountains.”

That didn’t really help Sparkle, for she didn’t know the land as well as the others. Her Wonder Map did help, but it didn’t show the whole land where BB was. Sparkle only nodded slowly.

“Sparkle,” BB started to say something, but the hesitated for a moment.

“Huh?” Sparkle looked at him.

Finally he spoke, “I’ve been curious, but everyone has talked, so……Is it true that you lost your memories?”

Sparkle flinched, she was a bit surprised that he knew, but yet wasn’t. Sparkle remembered that she spoken out loud a few times about her memory loss, but she hadn’t directly told the rest of the group except Puffs and Isaac. However, Sparkle didn’t feel like lying to the young Bidoof, so she told him the truth, more or less of it.

“Yes…..It’s true. I lost all my memory….” Sparkle spoke in a sad voice.

“That must be hard,” BB said symphonically, “Not being able to remember you friends or family. I’d hate that.”

Sparkle only nodded slowly, she didn’t really want to talk about it. BB seemed to catch that.

“I wondering what’s eating Isaac.” BB changed the subject, looking at the Riolu.

Sparkle just now notice Isaac wasn’t around, and followed BB’s gaze to the Riolu. He was at a distance, staring up at the sky, his back towards them.

Sparkle shrugged, “Don’t know, but he’s been touchy since we got here.”

BB shook his head, helplessly, “I understand he wants to get there, we all do, but I don’t want to travel non-stop there. It isn’t good for you.”

“I know,” Sparkle sighed, “He has a hard time with being patient. He is doing better, I’ll give him that. But to be honest, I never seen him this upset, or…..annoyed.”

“Isaac’s annoyed?” BB tilted his head in confusion.

“He seems like it.” Sparkle only shrugged. “But heck should I know. He’s been annoying since we left the Guild. I’m not sure what’s bothering him though.”

“Why don’t you ask him then?” BB asked. Sparkle was about to object, but BB answered before she could. “You might have a better chance at talking to him than me, he’s been snapping at me since we climbed back down the mountain. I’m not sure why, I was only trying to help.”

Sparkle sighed, bit annoyed. “Alright, I’ll see what I can find out.”

Sparkle got up, giving herself a shake before walking towards Isaac. She felt a bit awkward walking up to him. In fact, all she did was sit near him and just stared out into the distance. They didn’t speak for awhile, until Isaac finally spoke.

“What are you doing here?”

“Nothing.” She answered quickly.

“You’re here for something.”

“Maybe it’s the fact, you’ve been touchy ever since we’ve gotten here.” Sparkle looked at him. “You snapped at BB the whole time while setting up camp for no reason. All he was doing was helping. What is your deal?”

Isaac turned away, “Nothing. I just wanted to move quicker was all.”

“Yeah, while the rest of us drop along the way.” Sparkle grumbled, then sighed. “Ever since we left you’ve been grouchy, or annoyed. What’s eating you, Isaac? Tell me.”

Isaac took a deep breathed then spoke, “I just thought we’d be traveling together was all.”

“We are.” Sparkle pointed out.

“Yeah with a third wheel.” Isaac pointed at BB, not looking at him.

“So what?” Sparkle was a bit confused. “BB’s nice, and at least we didn’t get stuck with Mike or Harold. They wouldn’t of stopped talking the whole way. And we’re lucky we didn’t get paired up with Olan.”

“Yeah, that’s true.” Isaac mumbled, then shook his head. “I don’t know, we worked hard and I thought it’d be more fun traveling with just you. With BB…….” He trailed off, staring at the ground.

Sparkle tilted her head in confusion. “What? With BB what?”

Isaac shook his head, “Nothing, I didn’t mean to say that. It’s just I was rushing things. I wanted to be there you know. And explore.”

Sparkle was a bit skeptical about it, “Well it’s hard to explore when you’re rushing.” Isaac didn’t seem like he was going to change his mind, so Sparkle sighed. “Listen, Olan gave us, pretty much a week to get there, or until everyone to get there, so we have nothing to worry about rushing. We still a like six days ahead of us to explore and get there. We’ll make it on time. Besides with your rushing we’re missing the scenery nearby.” Sparkle’s ears flicked at the water nearby.

Sparkle started to get up, when Isaac finally said something, “I thought you were afraid of water.”

Sparkle only shrugged, and yawned. “Only when I’m drowning.” She turned away from Isaac and headed back to the campfire. “Goodnight, Isaac. And lighten up, things will be great on this journey if you start having fun.”

We still a like six days ahead of us to explore and get there. We’ll make it on time. Besides with your rushing we’re missing the scenery nearby.” Sparkle’s ears flicked at the water nearby.

Sparkle started to get up, when Isaac finally said something, “I thought you were afraid of water.”
