    "I can't tell you how much I appreciate you helping me get my treasure back." Isaac said.

    Sparkle and Isaac made it back to the beach and the sun had already settled and it was starting to become dark. There was still a glow from the sun in the background. Sparkle glanced at Isaac for a moment, then nodded once.

    "Your welcome."

    Isaac sat the rock down for her to see. "I found this on my travels and I just started to name it the Relic Fragment. Look at the weird pattern on it. I know this is for something big. I can feel it. And I want to solve it! But I don’t really know where to start. I was heading to a Guild under a Pokémon named Puffs, the Wigglytuff. I figured I could find out more about it when I joined, but they’ve been closed for five years. They just returned today, and I couldn’t go inside because they were recovering from the journey. I was going to go first thing in the morning, but…. I sorta lost my Relic Fragment and tore my place up trying to find it and figured I needed to clear my head after I found it. Then I ran into you.”

    "I see." Sparkle spoke.

    Isaac sighed, for a moment he was silent. Sparkle glanced up at the sky for a moment and saw the stars. She stared in awe, like she never seen anything like it before. (Wow…look at the starlight. It’s so pretty… Beautiful even… It feels like the first time…I ever seen stars before… Is it? No, that’s crazy, stars have always existed. I should have seen stars before.) Sparkle felt like she was being watched and she blinked and looked at Isaac. He was staring at her, smiling a bit, and Sparkle felt a bit uncomfortable. "Erm....what?"

    “Nothing.” Isaac shook his head, then sighed, “This might be a weird thing to ask, but what are you going to do now?” Isaac asked.

    Sparkle was taken aback, but thought for a moment before answering. “Um… I don’t know… It’s not like I have a place called home…” Sparkle rubbed the back of her head. “I…I don’t know…”

    “Well…why not join with me to the Guild and become an Exploration team?” Isaac suggested.

    “What?” Sparkle exclaimed.

    “As you said, you don’t know what to do, and you can’t remember anything. I live alone, and I do want to find a partner before I join. And we did well back at Beach Cave. I think we can make a good team. It just feels right.” Isaac pointed out.

    (It feels right?) Sparkle tilted her head in confusion. “But…I don’t really know you. How do I know you’re not some crazy mon or a thug yourself.”

    “Are you serious?” Isaac gave her an annoyed look, which Sparkle couldn’t help but laugh.

    “No, not really.” Sparkle smirked, then sighed. “Can I think about it? Or better, sleep on it? That’s a big step and I want to think things over and maybe some memories might come to me after a night’s sleep.”

    Isaac thought for a moment and nodded. “Alright. We can’t go tonight anyway, so we can meet up here tomorrow and go from there.”

    Sparkle stared at him for a moment, she glanced around her surroundings. (Does he want me to stay here? Overnight?! By myself?!) “Erm…couldn’t I just stay with you? Don’t you have a place to stay?”

    Isaac blinked, then shook his head. “Sorry, as I said earlier, I tore my place up and it’s a mess.” Isaac glanced behind them, to a forest nearby, “There should be a spot for you to sleep in the forest. I’m sure you can find a place to sleep comfortably. I like to clear up my place before I even consider anyone staying over.”

            “You’re just going to leave me here alone?” Sparkle asked, a bit annoyed. “You must be crazy.” Isaac turned to her, surprised, he was about to say something but Sparkle continued. “Seriously, I don’t know where I am and where to even to start looking for a spot to sleep. Can’t you just stay with me since we can’t go to your place?”

            Isaac stared at her for a moment, then sighed, “Fine.” Isaac gestured to the forest. “I can make a small place to sleep.” He picked up his Relic Fragment and placed it into a sack he had.

            “Thanks.” Sparkle sighed with relief. She really didn’t want to be alone.

    Isaac made a small shelter just on the edge of the beach and made two nests for them to sleep. He kept them at a distance and he went to lay down and actually fell asleep. Sparkle had more trouble falling asleep. She stared up at the sky, she saw the stars twinkling.

    (What am I going to do? What can I do? I don’t know what to do. Should I join him? I don’t really have any place to go or anything to do. I don’t know what to do with my memory loss. Isaac’s the only Pokémon I know and trust, literally. If I try asking around, I might get chased out for being crazy myself, especially if I tell others that I was human. Isaac seems to believe me now, maybe… He could just be avoiding the issue. Which I get it. It is weird and hard to believe. I don’t believe it myself. Am I crazy?)

    (“No, you’re not crazy.”) Sparkle perked up and sat up when she heard the same voice from earlier. She looked around, but again she didn’t see anyone. She glanced at Isaac, but he was sound asleep. So, she had no idea if he even heard anything.

    Sparkle let out a sigh, “Who’s there?” She asked, quietly.

    (“A friend.”)

    “A friend? Do you know me?”

    (“You could say that, but I can’t reveal myself right now. We need to see if your memories return. If they do soon, then you’ll recognize my voice. If not…. we’ll figure that out later. Don’t worry though, I am here to protect you.”)

    “What?” Sparkle was completely confused. “Just tell me!” Her voice got a bit louder, which she noticed Isaac stir in his sleep. When she got no answer after a few minutes, she let out a grunt of frustration and plopped back onto her back into her nest. Forgetting about Isaac. (Great. Hearing voices! Am I really crazy? Or am I just tired?)

    “Are you okay?” Sparkle perked up at Isaac’s voice and looked at him, surprised. He lifted his head and was looking at her, sleepily.

    Sparkle sighed again, “No, but nothing can be done.” She turned to her side away from him and curled up. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you. You can go back to sleep.”

    There was a moment of silence, then, “If you’re sure…. Then goodnight…”

    “Night…” Sparkle murmured.

    ~Next Day

    Sparkle slowly opened her eyes when the sunlight hit her face. She grunted and yawned. She looked around, sleepily, then noticed Isaac was gone. Sparkle jolt awake and looked around frantically.

    “Isaac?!” She rushed onto the beach and looked around. She didn’t see anyone, her heart pounded in fear. (Where is he?! Did he really just leave me?! How could he?!) Sparkle began to panic, but she didn’t know what to do.

    “Hey, you’re awake!” Sparkle turned and saw Isaac walking towards her from a path. He was carrying something and stopped when he reached her. “Sorry, I went to get some food. I figured you would be hungry.” He held out a small sack, which most likely had berries in it.

    Sparkle just stared in shock, her heart still pounding. “Are you serious?!” Sparkle snapped, which he flinched. “You could have woke me up! You scared the heck out of me! I thought you left me!”

    Isaac looked like he was going to protest, but he stopped and let out a sigh. “Sorry. I tried to wake you, but you were out. I was going to get some water and dump it on you, but then I changed my mind and just let you sleep. I heard your stomach growling and I decided to go home and get some food. And clean up while I was there. I didn’t mean to take too long. How long have you been up?”

    Sparkle was silent and didn’t answer right away. She let herself relax and calm down, realizing she overreacted. She sighs, “Sorry, Isaac, I just woke up and I got freaked out that I was alone or you left me.”

    “I’m not that kind of mon.” Isaac scoffed in amusement. “Anyway, eat up.” Isaac waited until Sparkle grabbed the sack of food, and open it. “I put in some Oran berries, Pecha berries, Chesto berries, Aspear berries, Rawst berries, and Cheri berries. I didn’t know what you liked, so I just grabbed different flavor of berries to see what you liked and didn’t. Oran berries are a mix of flavors, Pecha-”

            “Yeah, I remember berries.” Sparkle picked out a Chesto berry and stared at it. “But… I can’t remember how they taste like, but I remember what they taste like.” She felt the berry, and realized it was hard, so she didn’t think she would really like it, and she remembered that they were dry.

            Sparkle went through all the berries, she did try an Oran berry and it wasn’t bad. She knew she would most likely eat those more since they restore health. She was hesitant to try an Aspear berry, she remembered it was sour, but she tried it anyway. Obviously it was sour, but it wasn’t that bad. She tried a Rawst berry, but was bitter and she didn’t really like it. She came across a Cheri berry. She knew it was spicy, but she couldn’t remember if she liked spicy. She took a small bite, but once the flavor hit her tongue she spatted it out. And tried to get the taste out of her mouth. It wasn’t too spicy, but it just tasted weird. She saw something as she was trying to get the taste out of her mouth, Isaac was holding out another cup of water. Sparkle nodded in thanks and washed her mouth.

            “Yeah, I’m not keen on Cheri berries either. Though I’d prefer them over Aspear berries.” Isaac joked.

            Sparkle swallowed. “I rather have the Aspear to be honest.” Sparkle shivered.

            Sparkle finally got to the Pecha berry and hoped she liked this berry more. Which once she took it a bite, the sweetness and juices filled her mouth, which tasted to so good to her. Which she then realized how hungry she was, and started eating more of the Pecha berries, and there wasn’t a lot, so she went to the Oran and Aspear berries. She wasn’t full, but no longer hungry.

            “Better?” Isaac asked once she finished.

            Sparkle nodded. “Thanks.”

            “Welcome.” Isaac said, then sighed, “So, anything you remember?”

            “Not really.” Sparkle admitted. “I don’t think I even dreamt last night.” Sparkle shook her head. “I still don’t know what to do, but I don’t even have any choices or options. So…I’ll join a team with you,” Isaac perked up with excitement, but Sparkle continued, “but you have to promise you will help me. Help me with my memories and try to figure out what happened to me.”

            Isaac seemed to think a moment, but then nodded. “I guess I can agree on that. It’s the least I can do, but just to add, can you help me figure out my Relic Fragment? Not right away anyway, but once we have some time.”

            “Yeah, I don’t see why not.” Sparkle answered.

            “Great!” Isaac smiled and held out his paw.

            Sparkle stared at a moment, but then shook his paw as an agreement.

            “Let’s head to the Guild!” Isaac said, excitedly and started to leave.

            “Wait!” Sparkle shouted and Isaac stopped and looked back at her. “Can we do some more practicing? I want to do some training before we go. I want to make sure I don’t trip over myself anymore.”

            Isaac smirked a bit, remember from before and turned towards Beach Cave. “Well, Beach Cave is a great place to starting out. Let’s go.”
