Hello! Welcome to the Redesign Kit Guide! Here we will detail all of the things a Redesign Kit can and cannot do! We will also go into what will not require a Kit at all!
Does not require a Redesign Kit
-Changing the colour of: Eyes, Paw Pads, Mouth, or Hair
-Small Hue or Saturation changes
-Add 1 Accessory, or Remove all Accessories
-The simplification of markings or patterns
-Reverting a Pillowing back to the Original Design which was Submitted to the Masterlist.
Does require a Redesign Kit
-Adding a new marking
-Changing marking colours
-Changing Traits (including sizes)
-Adding Magic
Requires a MYO Slot
-All pillowings can be edited and customized a bit! However all designs must be edited from the first registered Pillowing design. All edits must honor and reflect the original in some manner.
-If the design is too far from the original, we will ask you to make a new Pillowing with a MYO Slot.
Everything above is also the same for Lintlings!

Just want to make sure and unsure if it's been asked before or not, but when using a redesign kit, are you allowed to change the rarity of a trait if that pillowing has a different rarity for a different trait?
For example, if they have a very rare tail trait, can any of their other traits also be very rare (or rarity's under that) or does it have to stay in the same rarity as the trait is (so if the eyes are common, they have to stay common but if the tail is rare, it can be a different kind of rare tail)

The availability of Trait Rarities is based on the Pillowing's Rarity.
This means if you have a very rare pillowing with common closed eyes and want to go to open dark eyes, you are more than welcome to do this with an edit kit. (Or go from rare open eyes to uncommon button eyes or whatever)
Same thing if you want to add or remove traits to the design. (Want to remove stitching? Want to add fur? Go for it.)
The only limitation on the redesign/edit kit is that the new design represents/resembles the original design and the traits do not go above the pillowing's rarity.

Would I be able to change my design from this: sta.sh/021om4p9uacj to this: sta.sh/01ctjfpb7lko without a redesign kit, or would I need one? I am just kind of changing the colors around and adding a few new shades of them. Thank you!

You are removing a marking and changing markings (Specifically: Changing the Marking Color).
This means that a redesign kit is required for these changes in your pillowing's design.

Yes, altering traits/features would require a redesign kit. Even if it's not overly noticeable (adding/removing squeakers, altering the pillowing's size, changing the magic etc.)

Would adding common padding to paws require a redesign kit?

Yes it would. This would classify as a trait change. (and even trait changes that don't change the image, such as sizes or magics require redesign kits.)

If we wanted to say, add claws. Would we need to buy a whole new myo slot or could we list buy a redesign kit?

Depends on the rarity of your pillowing.
If you have a very rare pillowing that doesn't have claws, but want them to have claws, then a redesign kit would be needed.
If you have a common pillowing and want it to have nails, then you would need to get a rarity upgrade slot (Rare Upgrade Slot, for nails, Very Rare for claws)
A new MYO slot would be if you wanted to make a new pillowing with a new design. Which you could do as well, but it wouldn't be altering the pillowing you already own, if that is what you want to do.

We base all redesign decisions on the original design image in the Archives! With that in mind your proposed changes would be fine with a redesign kit! It keeps the same floral pattern, as well as the face and ear markings! Just screenshot this conversation and then comment on the Archive entry with the screenshot, and a link to the redesign image!
