As requested!I probably wouldn't have done this... but people seem to have a lot of questions! I don't really feel qualified to make a tutorial XD;
But yeah, I hope this answers everything!
Not strict or anything, I've seen them in color and with tons of different styles too.

yup! once in a while i use bristol board but for the most part, plain white computer paper.

got any suggestions for a person without photoshop? i really want to make some but i need photoshop to make the light and that look right

do you really? deciding on a light source has nothing to do with photoshop. just decide where you're going to put her and make the shadows at least SOMEWHAT related. if you have a ceiling light that's the easiest, but even if the light is off you can just move the lamp if you have to XD

I just use regular computer paper! Thicker paper is better because it's not as flimsy. I've been using bristol board for my last three... it's great because it holds up well and doesn't flop around but it makes pencil really smudgy and is harder to cut out. So whatever works best for you is fine!
