These Mages trained their whole lives for the Hierarchy, using their magical powers to bring forth heavy demons into battle. Archviles are high mages that have originally come from the Hell Swamps, lots of them coming out of their bog-bound Shantytowns looking for a new life, and the reason why they're so infatuated with magic so much is because their people are very superstitious and might be a little crazy, possibly after generations inhaling toxic swamp gas.

Besides from summoning Heavy demons into battle, Archviles have a couple other spells at hand, such conjuring big walls of fires that defend their allies and ignite their enemies, this spell is based on sight and the openness of the environment, the Fire Walls can't work if the enemy is behind a wall. There's also their Necromancy spell, this spell can bring back their fallen comrades, mainly heavies, they leave behind the fodder because they're aren't worth their time, and they leave dead Super-Heavies because they don't have the clearance to do so.

Archviles tend to not wear much due to them being cocky, believing that they can do anything and can't be killed due to their current profession, so they're willing to take off their current clothing and armor, just so they kill their opponent while their cloaca is exposed to feel superior, again, they're probably just a little insane.

There are other demons similar to the Archviles, including the Infernis, the Appolyon, and the Summoner.
