Description
Gorbels are small aberrations that are most often found in wet, dank places like swamps, they also like infesting many-a-town's sewer systems. They have many eyes all around their globe-like bodies, so they're near impossible to sneak up on. Gorbels are predators, and they normally hunt creatures smaller than them, such as rats or oversized maggots, however when they're starving or threatened, they won't hesitate on attacking civilized races. When attacking people or animals slightly larger than them, they hop onto their back and begin to bite and claw at their flesh, and although at first this doesn't seem too bad, just remember that their teeth are razor sharp, and their mouths can stretch and dig deep into one's flesh.

Once a Gorbel latches onto something, it's difficult to get them off, especially since they have quite a resistance to blunt-force weapons, since their red, bumpy skin is able to absorb the impact. Sharp weapons however are a different story, since weapons such as daggers and swords are able to pierce the hides of these funky little creatures.

Because of their passing resemblance to another multi-eyed, spherical creature known as the Beholder, many people believe the Gorbel is some sort of Beholderkin, however this remains unproven, since although they do look similar, the Gorbel isn't in anyway magical or hold any magic potential of it's own. Though with that being said, the resemblance is certainly there, whether they be the result of Beholder conjuring, or are a feral species that are somehow related to the Beholders remains unclear.
