Description
Lacedons are an aquatic ghoul variants found within fresh and salty waters. Lacedons come about in a similar fashion to normal ghouls, with potential victims either needing to be killed by lacedons, cursed by a dark entity, or being buried at sea in haunted waters. Lacedons are bluish or greenish in tone, regardless of what their previous skin tone was in life, their hair will also take on a greenish hue and wet, matted look.Lacedons possess webbed digits, fins on their legs and forearms, and some of them also rarely develop gills. Freshwater lacedons are somewhat similar to their land bound counterparts in terms of behavior, since rivers and lakes tend to be in the range of civilization, they still have a wealth of interactions to have to keep them sane. Saltwater lacedons, mainly found in oceans, are much more aggressive, since they don't have many people to talk to, leading them to become hermits and lone hunters, the only time they see people is when they come across an aquatic species, like tritons or merfolk, or if they come across boats sailing the seas, like merchants or pirates, in which lacedons will occasionally find themselves working for the latter.
This saltwater lacedon calls herself Waterslithe, and she works for a goblin pirate crew known as Da Hag Diverz. Waterslithe is actually the captain's quartermaster, and she intimidates any unruly crewmate in submission under threat of being eaten, and let's just say that those aren't exactly empty threats. She also gets to manages the food and water supplies, where of course she gets most of the meat products, both spoiled and otherwise, much to the chagrin of the other crewmates.
This specific image depicts the time before Waterslithe became apart of Da Hag Diverz, where she raided small merchant ships and triton camps, and these raids usually almost ended her life, as she usually attacked alone and it was only by freak luck she managed to live. Whether her luck came from her wits or some sea god having mercy on her is unclear to Waterslithe to this day.
