Thanks! Β I don't remember why he ruffled up. Β He was in that spot for at least an hour, and very statuesque. Β Not skittish at all, unlike the herons in these parts.

Thank you! Β It is usually difficult to get herons to stick around for a portrait, but there are some places that they seem to feel safe. Β And this was one of them. Β Florida is another. Β But where I live in Wyoming they are quite skittish.
