If you still dont get how to draw them, you'll have to ask someone else, because I cant make it easier than this.
Note, most importantly that the texture lines on the curls follow the shape of the curl, they dont just go up and down like you did on your drawing.

I made this to help someone who could not get the idea that curls curled, and shaded and textured them straight up and down, and really badly.

nope. Most of the other tutorials had things that looked so complicated that i was afraid to even attempt them. Yours don't have any complicated steps like stringy thin lines first then outline. You just draw yours as clumps/shapes, and I like that.

Well I kind of have to because I am lacking the programs to do otherwise. lol
But I think with the thin lines beforehand, thats from scanning a pencil sketch then putting it on Photoshop and cleaning it, then digitally inking it...
Or doing like Katey did in her youtube tutorials.
