I love what you made this into, I just don't know if I would ever have come up with the change were it in my hands
Looking at how you improved on this, I'm wondering if I could have made some finished projects just a bit "better" with enhancement. Oh well

Thank you Mouse! Don't you worry, and keep 'wondering' about it.
Even if it's finished projects, if you start picking at it 'I would have done this', 'I could have changed that', such thoughts will make you more creative for the next piece.

I certainly will
I do have a pattern related question for you, if you don't mind I'm contemplating bringing some sparkle to damselfly wings, but the pattern dictates more than three or four colours to fill them in. Do I use several colours of sparkly thread instead, or one colour on top of it - or perhaps around?

Of course~
It'll depend on the final appearance you'd like to have. In my small edit tutorial (the first one I did on your request, I believe
) the little dragonflies I did are just solid stitched cotton and then I put sparkly over them. You could replace all your colors with several colors of sparkle too, it would make it more solid for sure but you might lose some of the shading cotton thread provides.
If you're meaning that three-four colors are used to fill them in like you have to quadruple blend your needle I would definitely recommend stitching over them with a sparkle instead of replacing them - that sounds like you need all that blending to get the color the pattern wants.
I'm not sure what you mean by "around" though. I'm sorta leaning you meant like blending a cotton and sparkly onto the same needle? That works too, but I find it's not nearly as sparkly as simply going back over your stitches. It will lead to a more random sparkly look though if that's what you're after.

Indeed your first tutorial was on my request
I was thinking to either replace the colours entirely, to combine the sparkle and non-sparkle on one needle, finish the colours and then cross-stitch over them, or around the wings in backstitching in a sparkly neutral-colour thread. The several shades are all their own number and indeed shade the wings. As far as I understood I won't have to combine colours on one needle I've never done that before
The design is this one if you'r curious I am probably going to multiply the fairys somewhat, and maybe even make those and the stars sparkle, I've not decided on that yet - I still have time

Ahhhh HAED, how my disdain for them only grows. It's a really pretty pattern but I would not recommend going through all the effort to replace the colors - HAED has a tendency to massively popcorn their colors and replacing it would be a nightmare. I didn't replace colors, but I did redraw sections of a pattern for Thriin somewhat recently:
The way they do their patterns, unless you want to redraw the entire thing to redo the wings I'd stick to blending/mixing the sparkle or stitching over the finished stitches. HAED by its nature doesn't do backstitching so placing new ones on your piece would like really out of place - it could be done! - but it might be odd.

This is my first pattern by HAED, and I'm quite happy with it so far. I loathe backstitching, so I was rather glad that was no part of this design
I will try my hand at mixing two threads on my needle then, and hope for the best Thank you so much for helping me trying to figure this out

now I feel a bit odd by not being bugged by things
usually...there is one HEAD chart I'm imagining changed but that would be such a huge changes, I'm not sure-that is IF I ever come to stitch it in the first placeΒ

No, I think you're totally fine! I'm probably the weird one wanting to take designers' hard work and chuck it out the window. If you ever want help with your HAED you know where to find me.

OMG really? you would help me?? I think it might amuse you, so what it is about-I have this mini heavenandearthdesigns.com/inde⦠ and I'd like to at least ad more beard on his cheek(you see, 'all things Thorin Oakenshield ) and ideally(but that would be really a huge, dificult change, I'd like to remove those antlers

We can totally do both those things.
/me puts on shades
No problem.
The only thing that would take more than a few moments of work is reconstructing the owl's wing, but even that's doable.

*gasp* Why thank you dear friend for this, in fact I was just starting a kit I had bought on sale a while ago and I like the overall design but there are certain parts (i.e.Β CRAZY LOOKING HAIR) where I was like "UM.... that is def NOT working for me..."

Did you know, when I saw the pattern, it immediately told me it was a Dimensions kit even before I read your description. Oh boy, is it a sign that I've been looking at too many patterns?Β Β
Excellent tutorial. The digital programming helps a lot to visualize the final effect.Β
All Dimensions patterns are rather fond of half-stitches. Since I'm a fan of half-stitches, I find them enjoyable and it finishes the area in half the time.Β Β

Ahaha, it probably is but that's okay, I think it's super great you can recognize a pattern that way! I'm glad you like the tutorial.
And yes! Half stitches are so nice, I have to figure a way to work them into my own patterns eventually.
