Thanks man for this nice tutorial!  Although most of it I knew already, I did become a bit rusty and this served as a good reminder on what to do!

I would say r_projectedtexture_filter command is a good place to start in regards to manipulating the shadows and lights with console, but I believe there were a few other commands (which unfortunately I can't remember off the top of my head) that were almost as equally important for experimenting "fixes" for shadows and lights.
