Description eight colors instead of five for the universal pattern. i tried to keep the spirit the same but some things needed changed. still, it seems to work just as well if not better.

i did actually intend to make it an eight color pattern to fit in with the rest, but i guess i was a zombie for a bit. idk.

for understanding colors nature and use less colors numbers try understand that monitor have only 3 colors (RGB), printing systems have 4 colors (CMYK - CMY is colors group, K - Black do colors darken if it needed). Learn about LAB colors mode.
and about PANTONE SPOT palette - its special colors that u cant made mixing CMYK colors. I think in this pattern 4 colors will be enough.

i still have the original psd for this pattern; i might fiddle with it in a bit. honestly im kind of waffley about more/less colors--but i did want to fix those big ugly splotches on the earlier one.

and yes, well aware of printing vs computer art, haha.

To be fair, commercial hunting patterns can have upwards of fifteen colors. Most also use those colors pretty poorly.
I at least try and stick to 5-6 roundabouts though, as additional cost per screen when screen printing is real for us small fries.

mm. the thing is that some of the colors are pretty close together. you can see in the lower right of the pattern where the sage green and grey are next to each other--at further distances they sort of blend together. somewhat same with the khaki and medium brown, to a lesser extent. i dunno. either one works--i did five on the other one because that's what stood out the most, perceptually, to photoshop's algorithms. this one has had a bit of fiddling to make it eight colors. i might keep working on it--most likely will. "universal" patterns are a sort of impossible project for a rigid perfectionist like me unfortunately, but i might eventually get to where i actually like it, rather than just consciously accepting "this is good. stop working"
