So I finally got around to making a new shading tutorial like I said I would. Instead of in PS, though, it's in SAI, and it's really not that difficult and I find it to be a great fast way to shade fur, so that's why I said it was mostly a fur shading tutorial in the title. idk lol w/eI think I pretty much covered everything on the image... sorry for the amount of text lol. It's a little more than I anticipated.

I'm so happy I found this! I needed a technique to shade a drawing because the character had patterns and spots on them, and I didn't want to shade them individually! This came in very helpful, also it helps focus on values on the shading rather than the colors under the layer ^^Β

Theres a lineart tool in SAI?? ._. I never knew that. Might I know where it is or how can I get it? ;w;

I think it depends on what version of SAI you have. I haven't used SAI in quite some time now so I'm not really sure but I know that an older version of SAI doesn't come with a lineart brush pre-made, but a newer version does. You can always make your own lineart brush, theres definitely some tutorials on making different brushes on SAI.Β

It's such a great tutorial! But there's one question: what density is the water tool? OrΒ doesn'tΒ it matter?

I normally have mine around 60-70 c: I change that sometimes depending on what I'm working on. It's best to just mess with it until you get what you want ^u^
