Wow, a lot of what I'm doing right now falls into the "conceptual illustration" category, I find. More than what you've all so far seen.

Ish Jackson, again. His obsessive-compulsive disorder is of the variety that gives him obsessions, not compulsions. But he frequently imagines really awful things - murder and torture, and whatnot. But, very often, he'll see himself as the one doing such evils. (Which is interesting...in past stories, I think I would have made him imagine himself the victim. Hmm.)

As it is, though, his belief in Christianity very much gives him a moral aversion to killing. (And...of course, most of us have a moral aversion to killing. But he has a religious feeling behind it, too.) And he has this sort of weird feeling towards God...he believes that God loves him, but He also disapproves of him. Kind of the way parents might love their child very much, but they might also really disapprove of the path their kid's gone down. Except Ish hasn't actually done anything yet. He just thinks about killing. And he can't get it out of his head.

I don't like this drawing very much, because I can not get facial expressions down. It may have something to do with the fact that I can't do mouths at all, or that I'm doing a new drawing style that does eyes differently, and I haven't completely mastered it. But, oh well, I'm sure I'll get better. Right now, I'm just drawing because 1, I want to do it to entertain myself, 2, I want to get creative ideas down on paper in a way other than writing them ("show-don't-tell", eh?), and, 3, I want to show it to my friends. Such as you folks.
