Description My digital finals for the quarter is a 3-part series that I could pitch whatever I wanted to work on, so I'm doing a concept art set of stuff based around Kito's world. : P My head's pretty much stuck there 24/7, but I've never thought what any furniture or objects would actually look like- so it was a fun challenge x,D

Two pieces after this are gonna be fully painted environments- but this first thing was a prop sheet of key objects I'm gonna squeeze into both of the scenes somewhere or another.~

;asdlkfjsd that was a janked up typo in the other reply, I meANT to say "advanced" digital- not aced >X,,,,D So far I've taken 5 digital-oriented classes here, with two being really general over views of digital programs, and 3 specifically in the illustration building focused on PS, and also Illustrator in the 3rd one I'm taking :>

( It's a really up n' down rollercoaster of really enjoying it to really loathing it x,D The good's outweighed the bad overall since going and I've done a lot of projects I otherwise would've never touched in my own self-driven pursuits, but there are times I've had classes n' professors that just make me wanna rip my hair out

and thaaaaaaaanks ;v; )

Ooooo, thank you so much! Gonna keep this in mind for colleg (Starting next semester, I am :> )

(Oooooh I wish you luck on those bad times tho 0: )

This somehow REALLY reminds me of Super Mario Galaxy.. I'm not sure why but YO ! These are some fine props, considering it's totally original (or maybe you might have gotten some pretty decent inspiration, but still) ! THE SHADING THO... MANNNNNNN.. I could stare at this for days ! Can I live there? ;v;Β

Probably cause it's colorful space stuff

And I got plenty of inspiration and references (which is frankly a good practice to have when doing any environment or character design), but they're VERY all over the place so I couldn't pin point you one thing in particular xD;;; Basically I gathered up a lot of references to inspire my own ideas, rather than copy an aesthetic of any one specific thing

Either way thanks so much! ;v;

Aaaaa it was a pleasure to watch you paint these, and the colors just glow superbly The design for them all are wonderful. The warp gate and Crystal Asteroids are my favorite in color. The soft, soothing shading on the warp gate is very calming X) Even better knowing these were painted to meme songs. xD

Thanks so much! ;v;

It's hard for me to pick a favorite of my own honestly. The only one I wasn't really fond of the result was the little control stand for the gate- and that's mostly cause it's the most boring x,D But I'd probably be tied between the asteroids and the gate as well

Hi yes I would like to mess around with the warp control please idk why I wanna touch it touch it though look I know it can only be utilized by shooting stars but a waffle can dream can he

ok for real I really love stuff like thisΒ
I usually don't find myself drawing around furniture and stuff but when I do I usually end up having fun
gizmos and such are just something fun to play around withΒ

Piranhartist In reply to Wonder-Waffle [2016-03-03 22:24:27 +0000 UTC]

This is why we only made stars able to use it, to keep naughty nosy trouble maker's mitts off of it- like yours

But thank you! ;v; I typically don't enjoy making up props as much as I do characters, but the practice of it has been growing on me, plus it makes for some variety in my portfolio

This is super cool! I love the sort of futuristic/antique (celestian?) look to all of these, it looks so elegant and futuristic at the same time!

Thank you! :,D I was definitely trying to go for an old-ish look compared to any props or toys characters in the present might make.

No problem! It kinda reminds me of all the old Gem tech in Steven universe, now that I think about it

Since a lot of that show also has a basis around space and stars- I can definitely see why! πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Your coloring (and art in general) continues to leave me in awe like w o w

The details on all the things here are so nice and really make you want to look closer

The colors on the gate made me think a little of a watercolor technique like the one used in Skyward Sword too! That combination of colors is so pretty and the designs on the side are gorgeous as well
Also that crystal asteroid really pops out with those colors and looks super pretty aaaa

Piranhartist In reply to iwakitsune [2016-03-03 01:50:02 +0000 UTC]

Duuuude thank you so much! ;v;

All the colors were probably my favorite things to come up with for these, I love working with em' so much, and it was only after I laid them down on the sketches that I really started to like how they were coming out
Also I've only played a teensy bit of skyward sword, but I can TOTALLY get that vibe you're talking about! :,D I remember the colors and feel of that game had a really vibrant but also serene kind of feel to them <3

You're welcome!

You did a wonderful work picking colors, I really love the way you combine and used them ; v; so nice aaaa
Haha, glad I wasn't too far from there, even though it wasn't your inspiration for that--the way you described it has that kind of feel!

Omg I remember this from the last livestream I was able to come to (the one with the trolling Luigi XD)!!!!! Also, that's awesome how you can work on whatever you want for your digital finals, they better expect Kito and Goro adorable awesomeness cause I know you totally got this!!!!! Keep doing an awesome job Pirahna!!!!!!! XD

Thanks so much! <,D

And they won't really be taking much of the spotlight- since my intent focus is with environments, not characters, but they'll definitely make at least one appearance next week.~

Lol awesome XD And omg environments?! You make awesome environments, especially in you Kito and Goro artworks!!! The atmosphere always seems to feel outer spacey but also homey at the same time, all while being gorgeous as well!!! Omg you're so gonna do good, you so got this!!!

It'd be pretty fun and exciting to try to render these all in 3D. Maybe sometime after "Bill & Maggie" is finished with post production.

The idea of visiting any place you can think of is also a wonderful thing, too bad I'm no shooting star haha.
