Description
This is why I've done my best to rid myself of excess. Spending moment by moment seeking the next thing to satiate my boredom is pure hell. Well-being can be found in the moments of not having 'stuff', but being bewildered with the next thought that arises in consciousness.
Instead of waiting for the next thing to entertain me, or the next tasty piece of food to bless my taste buds, or the next useless material object I can afford on Amazon, or even the next facebook post I can make a zingy comment on, I want to be happy NOW.
It's become ever more apparent to me that this does not happen on its own, but instead by intentional conscious effort. Mediating on the moment to moment awesomeness that is existence is so much more gratifying than dwelling on past accomplishments or worrying about some future event that has yet to happen. Things, stuff, shit, just gets in the way of that.
Give it away NOW. Be happy NOW.

I disagree. I once bought a console which I was really hyped about, never used it, because consoles suck and then I threw it after some random moron, and I never looked back. I don't even miss it a little.

I can relate. I wish I could get rid of 90% of the stuff in my room now after like ten years .

I know what you mean. I've been trying to whittle down my material excesses recently as well and keep my attention focused on things that are truly worthwhile.
