Never forget, where does this "Satan" get "His" power from ...

I always thought it was weird that Satan was considered a bad guy. If you sin, you're breaking God's law, and if you're breaking God's law, you should be punished. If Satan is punishing the sinful, isn't he doing God's work? And by sending people to Hell, isn't God endorsing Satan's actions? It seems to me that Old Scratch just exists to do the work the Jehovah doesn't want to get bad PR over.

Yeah, Yahweh is the sort of god I think it's best to steer clear of, like Eris or Loki. I mean, what sort of god blows up cities (Sodom and Gomorrah) just because they're bored? I'm not sure what the reference here is, tho.

Well it was meant to be commentary on original sin. In the "garden" the snake merely let humans know that they were dumb and if they ate a piece of magical fruit they could become like god. That pissed god off, and the world according to evangelical christianity spiraled out of control. There are so many things that could be argued here including why god put the fruit in the garden where the humans could get it in the first place? The point is that if one actually read the bible one could clearly see that, Yahweh – not Satan – is the destroyer of worlds.
If there were a hell, then by evangelical logic it was created by the only deity who can create, and that'd be Yahweh/God/Jehovah. He, in the myth of original sin, is the one responsible for everything that has "gone wrong". But evangelical christianity pins everything squarely on Satan, where if one reads the text they can see for themselves, that Satan is merely a player in the gory world destroying game this allegedly all-loving god created and is playing.
In short, Evangelical Christianity specifically, as well as all the Abrahamic faiths, are ridiculous.

Ah, I see. I don't automatically connect the Eden story to everything else bad that's ever happened in the world. I guess that comes from not being raised Christian.
Well, you know what they say: omniscient, omnipotent, omnibenevolent - pick no more than two of the three. Although personally I've always found the omni-concepts to be paradoxical just each on their own terms.
Yeah, I love the logic of evangelism. "You have to believe in Yahweh in order to be saved." "Saved from what, exactly?" "Errr, Yahweh..."
And the really amusing thing is that the modern concept of the devil is really a composite character. Satan, Lucifer, and the Serpent were originally all separate characters, weren't they?
The only brand of Christianity that I've ever heard of that struck me as both logical and moral is Gnosticism.

Poor guy, he's blamed for everything... and all he did was that he executed his free will, if i'm not mistaken. What is wrong with that?
