Description
Hey all! I am working on a game that is inspired by Pokemon, and Fakemon~ This is one part of that, Types!
HexBeasts all have 3 types, one from each category here, Tactic, Element, and Biology. I'll explain each icon and what sort of monster it corresponds to below~
Tactics: These types cover how a HexBeast behaves in battle, their preferred strategies, and technical styles.
1. Simple - The 'Normal' type of tactics, basic blend of offense and defense, nothing really notable. Usually attached to early HexBeasts that haven't grown into their final forms.
2. Attack - The type for HexBeasts that go for raw power, and lots of it. They're weak defensively, and can't always be counted on to hit, but when they do, it's painful.
3. Defense - The type for HexBeasts who prefer their enemy to come to them. They use defensive maneuvers and counterattacks to block damage and return it twofold.
4. Speed - The type for HexBeasts who like to outmaneuver their enemies. They tend to use moving attacks like Trample, and multi-hit attacks like Frenzy.
5. Range - The type for HexBeasts who specialize in hitting their targets from a distance. Their attacks emphasize keeping away from enemies, and hitting wide areas.
6. Health - The special type for HexBeasts who specialize in Healing and Support.
7. Tricky - The type for HexBeasts who specialize in setting traps, and using sneak attacks.
8. Mystic - The type for HexBeasts who capitalize on secondary effects and unusual elemental techniques. Roughly analogous to Psychic type Pokemon.
9. Martial - The type for HexBeasts who use complex melee moves to overpower opponents. Roughly analogous to Fighting type Pokemon.
Elements: These types describe what aspects of nature the HexBeast is able to manipulate.
1. Photo - The manipulation of Light for lasers, auras, illusions, etc.
2. Aero - The manipulation of Wind for crowd control, weather alteration, etc.
3. Hydro - The manipulation of Water for spouts, waves, bubbles, etc.
4. Cryo - The manipulation of Ice for freezing winds, chunks of ice, snow drifts, etc.
5. Kinetic - The manipulation of Sound or a HexBeast's own movement. Roughly analogous to Normal type Pokemon, elementally.
6. Ferro - The manipulation of Metal for weapons, armor, shrapnel, etc.
7. Bio - The manipulation of Life energies, to encourage plant growth, to drain energy from enemies, etc.
8. Veno - The manipulation of Toxic substances to sicken opponents, weaken plantlife, sap enemy strength, etc.
9. Poly - The manipulation of more than one of the other Elements.
10. Umbra - The manipulation of Shadows and antimatter to conceal oneself, blind enemies, etc.
11. Terra - The manipulation of Earth for inciting sandstorms, conjuring stones, spraying mud, etc.
12. Electro - The manipulation of Electricity to electrocute targets, etc.
13. Pyro - The manipulation of Fire and heat to burn targets, etc.
Biology: These types describe the physical makeup of the HexBeast, roughly.
1. Marine - Encompassing Fish and other marine lifeforms.
2. Fungus - Encompassing Mushrooms, Molds, and similar lifeforms.
3. Alien - Encompassing those HexBeasts which do not fit into the other categories, or multiple.
4. Amphibian - Encompassing frogs, toads, salamanders, etc.
5. Plant - Encompassing Trees, Flowers, Succulents, Seeds, etc.
6. Mythic - Encompassing Dragons and HexBeasts which are more magic than matter.
7. Reptile - Encompassing Lizards, Snakes, Dinosaurs, etc.
8. Insects - Encompassing a wide variety of Arthropods as well as Arachnids and similar lifeforms.
9. Spirit - Encompassing HexBeasts which exist out of phase with our reality.
10. Mammal - Encompassing Canines, Rodents, Bovines, Felines, etc.
11. Avian - Encompassing all kind of birds.
12. Construct - Encompassing any HexBeast that is inorganic in nature, such as minerals, artificial lifeforms, etc.
Feel free to drop any questions you may have~

This is a really cool concept but i feel like so many types could get confusing for some people

That's a valid concern, though type matchups are also a bit less important than Pokemon for example, as a perfect matchup will only deal 175% normal damage, so memorization is less important.
