Description
Here is the first tutorial in a set of Paint Tool SAI tutorials that I am making. I thought that a settings tutorial would be the best to post first, as I will refer to this tutorial in future tutorials.I hope I explained everything well. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

This is an AWESOME tutorial! Very helpful indeed, but might i ask what are the settings for a Line art layer pen tool to be more like a Inking format.
When ever I look at youtube videos of Paint Tool sai tutorials, whenever they draw the brush is turns from smooth to bold! How do they do that? I'm not exactly sure if everybody can do that or their using tablet. Could you please help me? (I draw with a mouse, btw)

Oh, I will have to get back to you on that one. As far as I know, the fading effect only applies to the sensitivity settings when using a tablet, but I will check for you.

Awesome tutorial! This helped me understand Sai more 
But there's something I've been confused with and trying to understand, what is the "Clipping Group" and what does it do? *A* Whenever I clip a layer to another the clipped layer disappears...>.< Please explain!

When you clip a layer, the contents of the top layer (the layer that you applied the clipping group setting to) will only be visible at areas that contain content on the lower layer. In other words, if there was no content on the lower layer, the contents of the top layer would not be visible. Use the clipping group when you want to paint over the contents of the lower layer without actually affecting the layer. This is especially useful when painting in shadows and light--you can apply the base color on the layer below, then apply a clipping group to the layer above and paint in the shadows and light. I hope this helped!

You are correct!
It's exactly the same as opacity lock, but only affecting the layer with clipping group checked. It's very useful in situations where you want to be able to paint within the contents of a layer without actually painting directly on the layer. Now, all the painting can be done on the new layer.
I use both opacity lock and clipping groups. Sometimes it's useful to paint directly on the layer--like when you need to use the colors on a layer for blending purposes. For most other situations, clipping groups are recommended because it makes it easier to go back and make changes when needed. I hope this helped!

My Sai only has (simple circle), and none of the others. What's wrong and how can I get the other settings?

Make sure that you have the "brushform" and "brushtex" files in your main SAI folder. You also need the "blotmap", "brushtex", and "elemap" folders. Basically, the brushform and brushtex notepads tell SAI where the shapes and textures are located, and the folders contain the actual shapes -- in the form of image files. If these files are missing, I can send you a copy of mine if you would like.
