remember that movie that came in the 90's (early or later 80's) actually now that I think of it it's based on a comic with the same name.
Rocketeer - that pose is just so Rocketeer...
and for a rocket robot that's great.. I like this pose for the dramaturgical effect.. but the other one shows more "robot"..

Have you considered composing an image where he is flying, or rather standing in the air with his feet limp and his shadow metres below?

It's nice to know you're still alive! I love the perspective but the DOF seems off somehow. Perhaps the highlights on the lower body stand out too much. Also, the nose panel could use some better AA. Other than that great job!
