Description
This is an image done for Lore of Steel - a general 'items' image for the items page. It was lots of fun - and a good challenge - I used it as an exercise in composition, focal points, and lighting. Very enjoyable to paint!It started life as an item shop, but kinda morphed into an adventurer's bolthole/warehouse instead.

EDIT: Adjusted the brightness a tad, and I was concerned it was coming out too dark on other monitors.

I imagine all this work you're doing must be great for your ability. Like.. normally you can just let things go and promise to do better next time, but you have SO much work you have to do that has to be up to someone else's and your own standards so the whole thing must be a great challenge.

Yeah! It is quite a challenge - and it's making me work harder and I think improving my skills, which is good.

Oooo. I love the way part of it is lit by daylight and part by candle. And all the different blues and reds mixing together.

I really enjoyed playing with the lighting, and learned quite a lot. Originally, I drew a portrait-shaped image and ended up switching it to landscape, so had to do a lot of compositional adjustments: but it was a fun challenge!
