Description
In the 1950s, the Philippine Air Force lack the all-weather and night capability interception, which their F-86Fs doesn't have radar. The Philippines acquired 20 F-86Ds, assigned to 8th Fighter Interceptor Squadron "Vampires", where the Quick Reaction Force was formed beginning in 1960; as part of the U.S. military assistance package.

The F-86D became the mainstay of the Philippine Air Force interceptor force, until they were retired when they were replace by F-5 fleets and F-8 Crusaders in the late 1970's.
