I really like this one, it's one of my favorite pokΓ©mon "transformations" I've made. It looks alittle bit alien-ish but still like a bug (yet again I got alot of insperation from my hissing roaches). I especially like how the wings, head-shape and eyes turned out.This shedinja doesn't look very dead thought...

I think you should've made the wings look more ragged, or non-existent, because as you noted it doesn't look very dead, and that's the main cause. Also no halo.

Really? I ought to try that, I was training a nincada for shedinja (needed a ghost type at the time) but gave up when I learned it had only one hp, plus I had a kadabra that killed literally everything lairons a plus too. (pokemon ruby)

Thanks to Wonder Guard, only super effective moves will wipe out that 1HP. It's great against AI opponents, provided they don't use an environmental threat. Shedinja has no hope against human players though, they know what to do about it.

I really like the comical look of its eyes and face, yet it still looks realistic!

Shedinja is based on the discarded skin of a cicada. The "wings" are where the imago bursts out of the back during molting.
I don't like the design, but that doesn't mean I don't like the artwork.

It doesn't really look quite dead in the games and such either... maybe making it slightly translucent, like a snake's shed skin, would help? Or adding the ring above its head like in the games?
It does look pretty awesome, though, so I can't complain.

I think just removing the pupils would suffice for making it look 'deader' but awesome job!

shedinja is a really unliked pokemon due to it having only 1 hp. if it had a normal amount of hp i would use this pokemon more myself. but alas whenever i use it i always lose. btw great picture. and if you really wanted to go for the dead look you could have just left the eyes hollow or black or something. other than that you did a great job.

. . . so lucky. My boyfriend won't let me get any large insects as pets.
Speaking of pets, if Pokemon really looked like this I'd be a bug catcher/trainer for sure! ^^

Ha ha, this shedinja looks scared. I guess its eyes are just shaped like that, but I can't help thinking it's giving a look of horror (why does it have compound eyes and pupils?).
I noticed quite a bit of liberty was taken for this one. The halo's gone in this one, the eyes look different, and some parts have been added which weren't there before, like the antennae. And of course, it's obviously got blood and organs in it.
To Origami Gryphon: I think AnnaJ thought the tatters of skin actually were its wings (I always thought they were wings too), since the wings match them on the original shedinja.

Shedinja is my favorite! But I dun think it has wings the stuff comeing out of its back is peices of the ripped open shell, when Nincada evolves. So Shedinja is just a floating shell.

yeah i am not really a big pokefan.....i just got dragged kicking and screaming into it.....<< now i am addicted to the games and i noticed the thing was an empty husk right away.....probably because i used to find the husks that cicadas shed all the time in my yard....thats what the pokemon is. Ninjask is a 17-year cicada.

This Shedinja is a little too lively. *laughs* It doesn't look like a dead husk of a pokemon. Though it still looks alot better than the one I did! The wings are beautifull, and the colour is very shell-like.

Actually the first time I set my eyes on this yet again masterpiece, the first thing that popped in my head was, "Wow! That looks just like one of those dead locusts you find laying around!". So, ya, I think it does look dead. Except that it has eyes. But then again, how could somthing fly if it wasnt at least half alive? None the less, this is just another

Wow, this is very great! I agree with you, this is one of the better pieces you've done. and yeah, I agree with OrigamiGryphon's suggestions. Also, Shedinja has a halo-thing floating above its head. Could you transform that into horns, also? Or did you have a specific reason for not including it?

Maybe it would look deader if its eyes were the same empty, blank brown as the rest of the shell, since it sheds that part too when it emerges as a Ninjask.. and the wings would also be gone, as it doesn't have them in larval form, just a large gash and torn pieces where it came out. I've seen plenty of cicada shells when I was younger, so I have reference! Along with the Discovery Channel. XD
