Concept exploration for a (evil) changeling airshipI don't think it's very changeling-ish, instead looks like a turtle + angler fish... (fail). I should try studying more insects for this.

King Thorax looked impressed by the offer, but the two Royal Changelings from the Spring and Summer Courts, here to advice Thorax on behalf of their Progenitor parents,Β regarded him and the ship warily.
"Captain Hawkmoth..." Hymenoptera, the semi-retired Changeling King of Hive Hymenoptera, gave the Captain a calculating glare, his even, composed voice hinting respect for his achievements - hiding contempt for what he represents, "Yes, we do know of you, your crew and your heritage. Among the most skilled of Changeling renegades who took to the skies, you and your family before you had either been raiding or employed as mercenaries both around and beyond Amorea for nearly three generations, defying our rightful authority as the Progenitors' Scions and those of other lands."
"Your reputation precedes you, Captain Hawkmoth. Even those among the Courts of the Roses and Thorns have heard of your exploits - though they are now overshadowed by those of the so-called 'Pirate Prince' of King's Ransom. Some had found you amusing. Others had found you... troublesome." Changeling Queen Formica added, her tone only slightly less suspicious and wary than that of Hymenoptera.
"And yet, we are... confounded, that you now dare stand before us, pledging your loyalty to the High Prince. You and your crew had always been fiercely independent. So why do you now offer your services to the Sanctified One? Why show yourself, knowing you would now catch the full attention of the two Courts?" Hymenoptera gave a sinister smile, "Do you know what we do to those who would defy our rightful authority as the Scions of the Progenitors?"
The insolent smirk that Hawkmoth returned annoyed them, though they hid it very well, as did the insolent remark he gave afterwards, "Well, your 'heinies', let's just say that we're 'changing' with the times..."

Thorax jogged across the room, putting himself between the simmering Royals and the--he mentally chuckled--new head of his Hive's air force (or was it navy? He'd have to ask Pharanx). He gave his best, cheesiest grin to both sides, trying not to stand too close to either side. "Hey, hey; no need for this verbal sparring;" he admonished. "We're all adults here. Hawkmoth may have been...roguish, back in the day; but he's pledged his allegance to me now. As his King, not a client."
Hawkmoth bowed--genuinely, not to annoy the two Royals. (Which only irked them more; seeing and senseingΒ his sincerity took away most excuses of being suspicious). "You hit the rivet on the head, Your Highness. My ship and crew serve you as subjects, not work for you as privateers."Β
He flashed another insolent smirk at the other Royals, so brief even they weren't sure they'd truly seen it...
And that meant they couldn't accuse him with confidence.
Formica and Hymenoptera's faces were oceans of calm, but in their minds, they were seething.
