The first snow of the year here.This is standing in Oregon looking down into California.

We drove up to "see" our first snow in the mountains near Tahoe today... didn't get this close - too many other things to get all the way up but now with your photo I'm more dissapointed that we didn't go further, maybe tomorrow...

Thanks, I almost got stuck up there but it was definitely worth it. I had a great time and got some good pics.
I think we are going to try to go to Tahoe sometime this winter, I've never been.

We haven't been during winter in about 25 years...I met my husband at Chico State and Tahoe was an occational weekend trip from there. We then moved down south to Santa Barbara but bought a timeshare week up at Tahoe so he could get his '

I'm not so much into the resort areas either, (more into hiking, biking and taking photos 
I think I would like to see it both in winter and summer.

The Tahoe basin is beautiful with just snow on the mountain tops - there are soooo many great places to hike and photograph, bike too...I know you mean mtn.biking but there's a wonderful bike path that goes around lots of the lake...Our timeshare is at the base of the Heavenly Valley lift so we've always enjoyed hiking in non-ski season - it will be a zoo when there's snow on the ground!!!
