Most eggs are more circular and more closely resemble a soccer ball. However, the definition of a ball is a round, spherical object. If you ask me, football resembles a rock better than either of these other shapes. If we were forced to rename the sport I think the mos appropriate name for American football would be something like "tacklerock" (tackle the guy with the rock) which to me sounds like the most bad*** sport ever.

It actually doesn't make me feel bad to know that the world is a generally shitty place, though. I'm mostly ambivalent towards it, and I try to do whatever good that I can while being a massive dick about it for the lulz.
Besides, I do all those other little things that supposedly put one in good health(masturbation, reading more than watching TV, taking up many creative outlets, and getting semi-regular exercise), so I'm pretty sure it evens out.
And if it doesn't? I'd rather die an honest young man than live to be 90 while trying desperately to pretend that everything's just peachy-keen as the world crumbles around me.

Soccer is actually an English word which came into usuage in the early 1800s. Made up by the middle class people from Oxford no less. It's an abbreviation of Association football which is the proper name for Football. Middle class people in Britain would say Soccer; working class people would call it Football. In mid 1800s when England made up the definiteive rules for football it just became know as good old football. Americans call it Soccer purely as a way of differentiating their game of Football to ours. Simple as that

Soccer sounds better, if you ask me. It sounds so much more sporty and civilized (which it is).
