Better.

Although I don't like such monocolour either. A bit of colour variation applied intelligently could really bring out the depth I think, such as fading into darkness, since the contrast has made some parts of the piece very very dark and a strain to see the subtleties ( ...depending on light conditions, of course). So some mixed colour here would really help I think. Up to you though.

Beautiful my friend, as always. The light and the casings are fantastic, but I'm missing the content of the traditional works. This DOES succeed on its own without that same ol, same ol.

The cobweb feel is really interesting. I like it.

Much MUCH much better; Mark S is very much right about the top left. I think the rest could better reflect that main lightsource; as it is, the compo comes off as a bit confused. Still I will fav simply for the top left.

Much better update, I really love the top left part.
What I think would look great if done properly is if you added some shadow behind some of the ... uh ' pillars' (?!?) of gas, just to give it an extra bit of depth.
Not that it's needed though
