Oh, boy, another 8 Splatfests have gone by. You know what that means!

10-20-18: Trick vs. Treat- For me, Halloween has always been more about being spoopy than collecting candy. I'm also a big fan of Robbie Rotten, so this post was an homage to the Internet's patron saint of trickery. Unfortunately, the scene I chose to replicate may have had too much detail to pull off well in a Splatfest post.
11-16-18: Salsa vs. Guac- I don't like avocado, so very easy decision. I think the panicked expression turned out pretty well, especially considering that I usually struggle with exaggerated facial expressions.
12-15-18: Heroes vs. Villains- Although I've never been a particularly active Smash player, back in ye olde times Kirby was my main. Since Kirby had been showing off some serious plot armor around the time of the Splatfest, so I chose to make that my subject.
1-5-19: Family vs. Friends- Um, I don't really have any commentary for this one. I'm not good with writing sappy stuff, so this post was actually kinda embarrassing...
2-9-19: Pancakes vs. Waffles- In my opinion, both waffles and pancakes are okay, but too fluffy and filling to enjoy very much of. So, I did that thing again where I root for an imaginary third team instead. This was the most that any of my Splatfest posts has ever blown up, netting about 60 likes for no apparent reason. I guess a lot of people like French toast.
3-16-19: Knights vs. Wizards- Come on, anyone who knows me can guess I'll take being a wizard over almost anything else. I tried a different shading method in this drawing, which looked nicer but proved rather time-consuming. I'll probably only use it in the future if it fits the situation.
4-20-19: Tortoise vs. Hare- Another pretty easy choice, as my general approach to life is very tortoise-like, plus it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone by now that I really enjoy drawing tortoises.
5-18-19: Time Travel vs. Teleportation- I liked this Splatfest theme, because both options came with implications that could change society as a whole. Personally, I decided time travel is cool, but its risks are just too serious for it to be safely used. The inverted colors and lack of shading are pretty eye-catching and works well for the subject.
