Can't you see? It's all part of a big scheme by the government. First, they created the monster. Then they had to react to the threat and demand higher military funds. Finally, they let it destroy the old equipment to order new one from the industry. Disasters like these are good for the economy! (This makes a superheroine of course an enemy of the people.)
