Description I'm inordinately pleased with how it turned out, since it's been 6 years or so since I baked anything from scratch. It's a nice, dense bread with an incredible crust and, as all homemade bread should be, is topped with real butter. Not that fake crap they sell nowadays, but real, imported Irish butter.

All I can say is that my sister asked me if I was having an orgasm when I tasted it whilst on the phone with her.

And I might be interested in mailing loaves to people if'n they want some.

Did you knead it with your hands and baked it in the oven or have you done it with a breadmaker?
It looks nice!^^
I would eat it!

Always by hand an in oven! (I have a breadmaker buried in a closet, which is exactly where it belongs.)

Okay, thank you very much.^^
(I totally agree with you; a breadmaker has to stay in a closet.)

I was going to put in roasted garlic, I forgot to mis it into the bread, but I just spread some on the surface on the bread before baking it, and I had enough left over so it could be used as a spread if you wanted more.

Wow that looks like poundcake (and omg the BUTTER! ). The most I make is a simple flour, salt, yeast and water.

What's the recipe?

you can get it here in its original form. i'll admit i did some minor tweaking, but the original recipe is freaking amazing too. one thing to note: stretch your dough whilst kneading!!! i actually knead for like 15-20 minutes to make it a smooth well-blended texture, and every 2 to 3 minutes i pick it up and stretch it as far as i can without breaking it. well, i break it. a lot. but by the time you hit that 15 minute mark you should be able to make a 3 foot square stretch without more than minor rips. then it's ready to rise.

the butter is from publix, it's kerry's, so you should be able to find it. i also have a homemade butter recipe if you want? it's a cheating method, but it makes a marvelous honey butter that is so light you barely notice it.

i'm able to get kerry's butter (surprisingly easy; there must be a secret irish population here i'm not aware of), but i wouldn't mind the recipe.

the stretching looks like fun. usually i just throw the bread onto the counter to stretch it. scares the crap out of anyone who isn't paying attention though.

sorry it took so long to get back to you, thinks have just been messed up at my place. [link] that is possibly the best, simplest recipe. very easy, very nice. i'd recommend adding a bit of salt or honey to the finished product, only one or the other depending on whether you want sweet butter or regular butter. not both together though! and trust me, a very little goes a long way, start out with single drops of honey and a pinch of salt, if that much.

*shrugs* Nah, it's okay. I take a really long time to get back to people in the first place.

Thanks for the recipies!

Highly doubt it, since it wasn't on the list, and the company would lose profit if the let walmart sell their products.
