They have made a lot of statements about how there are more attacks using knives in the UK than attacks using rifles in the U.S. This is true, because the most used type of firearms used in gun violence is the handgun. However looking past that, the number of attacks aren't as important as the number of people killed. Many "Knife attacks" are shallow, practically meaningless cuts.
