Description The colours here are purposefully not canon! (unlike the other version I did here [link] )

This is me playing about with the colours in 's drawing of Aphrodite IX from Top Cow comics, original here with an updated background [link]
which then inked, original here [link] and which both artists were kind enough to give me permission to work on, thanks *so* much guys!

I had a great time playing about with the colours and mucking about with the clouds

So to recap:
Original Pencils -
Inks -
Colours - me

Twosomeness! Thanks Debs
Have to agree with JLS on the highlights, and I really like how her hair looks in this one

Thanks so much! And yeah, I agree totally with the guns comment as well, I tried to hard to get them right but just lack the skills to highlight properly so I took em back to faint highlights along one side before I drove myself mad This summer I've got to focus on a lot of reference work with lighting and shadow and really learn to nail it down!

Coolness...the guns seem a bit lost with the coloring choice...you may want to add some highlights to it to make the bits an pieces pop some

Thanks dude! I tried so hard with the guns and just could NOT get what I knew it should look like so I settled for the itty bitty highlight so there was something there that I wouldn't keep torturing myself over

I'll be bugging you incessantly over the summer for hints and tips with highlighting if that's ok?

Haha! go for it...my main thing would be to look at real guns (photos) and other artist and how they color it...and to work in 3 colors/ Shadow, midtone & highlights that should help with separating the different areas. Also different tones of color within that range. Like a grey gun you could use 3 different colors of grays shadow and highlights for each.

Thanks for the supprt dude!
I'm definitely going to throw myself into it and work hard at that this summer, I think it's really letting me down cos I just can't get what I want to get down on the page! Come this summer, you're gonna be bored to tears with all the reflections off of surfaces that I'll be doing Something else I want to be able to do is realistic water as well!
