This is nice u should be proud of your piece. I see where u have shadows and tones my only suggestion would be to try and push the features of the muscles a little more make them a little more prominent by this I mean if u were to see these guys nude your would see bone and muscle structure. And since spandex rules the super hero world it's basically nude Heros under colorful underwear and a little more shadows to push those muscles and so forth would really make this picture pop. As far as backgrounds and stuff I have nothing to say about those cause I can never find a satisfying medium for me nothing ever really seems correct. But very nice job reminds me if some old school stuff from when I was younger

Thanks so much for the feedback I'm working on a more defined version of this at the moment, the general consensus on my work is that it needs to be more defined and stronger with it's shadows and highlights and I'm definitely working on that
You also made me laugh with the "Nude heroes under colourful underwear"
I snorted my coffee
I'm proud of my colour choices, now I just need to get on the rest of it to really up my game

This looks ok really, however, (I don't want to come across unsympathetic and bitchy -it's not my intention at all-) these are flat colours. I mean there's not variation of tones. If you put a black and white filter you'll see what I mean. There's not volume, no lights and shadows. That's why it's flat.
I know you're happy about this, and negative comments are never welcome, but I like it when people pay attention to what I do and try to say something constructive about it, and that's what I'm attempting to do here. I also entered the "battle" and I left comments and many pieces that I liked because all artists deserve the attention and the recognition for what they've done.

Lol I wondered who you were for a second and then see we're facing off
First off, thanks for the feedback, I like to learn
However, I think to say that it's "flat" is unfair, to put the WIP and this side by side you can see that that isn't the case at all, there are shadows and highlights for each colour, sometimes several layers of them. Shadow and light are things that I find difficult, but there's clear shadowing and highlighting in there.
I tend to not make the highlights and that all that bold at the moment, I'm a lot more muted in my colour choices and while that's something I'm working on continually I feel I struck the right balance with this one for my skills at the moment I've only been doing this for a little over a year and it's a steep learning curve lol! I'd rather have my colours lower key and know that I'm happy with it, than push for a result that I'm not confident in as yet and face having something I'm proud of turn into something I'm not happy with.

When I wrote the comment I didn't know we were going to be opponents!
Having fun and being happy with my work are the MOST important things when I paint. So I understand that you're satisfied with your work and it makes you proud. When I started I felt the same about my works, but now that I have more experience I don't even want to look at them The thing is I have a lot of fun trying to push for results I'm not confident with. I experiment, I try and change things like crazy and I learn while I'm doing that. I have *elsevilla as a role model. He always does new tricks and he is always original. You and me will probably never be as good as him, but we can try

I hear you You've got such a great grasp on lighting, that's really something I need to improve on, while I can see an improvement in my work it *does* frustrate me that it's not where I need it to be
If you see a ton of "oh dear what's she *doing*?!" pics up on here you know it's just me lol
