It is time!! Or, a little overdue, since I’ve had this for a while xD

I am very proud to present:

The lineup for Diacritical Operations
-An auxiliary force within the Gotei 13
(this unit exists in my canon-story, but this is primarily meant for an AU story I’ve got going )

For those wondering what exactly it is Aurora does as a Soul Reaper, I’ve got a little more of an answer for you

In Diacritical Operations, they supplement the acting Court Guard Squads. Meaning, they go between divisions to pick up the slack (such as, fill in for fallen/absent officers to keep the squad in order, assist in coordinating functions, act as ambassadors if there’s a conflict, etc…)

It is also a means for people who are skilled as Shinigami but occupied otherwise (such as the instructors at the Shino Academy, or noblemen usually occupied with their dealings and can‘t hold an active seat) to have an occupation in the Gotei 13. Since they aren’t an engaged squad with everyday, active duties, they can be called upon for action, if their presence is needed.

…That is their superficial function…

Covertly, they are a specialized combat unit, which handles an uncommon threat when it surfaces.

The incidents are infrequent, but they are trained to fend off a demonic type of soul being, known as Mongai (Sabado talks a little about it here in a piece of Kousei Bengonin I posted a while back: Kousei Bengonin, Ch. 22Aurora was stumped by his statement. “What for?”
“It’s all my fault that thing attacked our group,” he admitted, quite guiltily. “If it hadn’t been for me, I doubt it would have bothered any of you.”
“Don’t be that way, Sabado.” Her eyes shown the sincerity of her words. “No one would ever blame you for that creature’s actions.”
He kept quiet for a moment, but resolutely decided to go on discussing the situation that was immediately on topic. “I suppose… you noticed.”
Aurora nodded, knowing what he was referring to. She had said so to Shunsui that night, and maintained to that very moment, that something wasn’t right about that constructed Hollow that had attacked them.
“I figured you would,” Sabado said softly. “And, to be honest, that bothers me a little.”
“Why’s that?”
He gave her a serious look. “Because that means it noticed y )

It’s an infrequent occurrence that they tangle with Soul Reapers (usually crossing over into Hueco Mundo to prey on Hollows). From time to time, however, incidents have involved normal souls in the Living World, and the Soul Society as well.

When it does, they look into it~ Specifically the Ori family (it is their task, and has been for generations)

Aside from the three boys, Aurora has been trained in demon combat, better known as Hogokanzei

Pichi Kin (who was recruited from Squad Two) is also being instructed in the art.

There are more members to Diacritical Operations than those pictured here, but these 5 are the key members, and the primary Soul Reapers that practice Hogokanzei (as a side note, the Ori house servant Daphne is also an avid practitioner; his skills with it rival Nephir :3)

~From Left to Right~

*Sabado Ori:

is the 3rd Seat for Diacritical Operations; he handles most incidents between squads (and is an expert with paperwork, and delegations, like his oldest brother) He also has a distinctive ability with Hogokanzei and demonic combat, since his Zanpakuto was fused/possessed by a demon when he was a boy.

*Friday Ori:

Is the acting Lieutenant for Diacritical Operations; he is the most active member of the small collective, whether it’s going out to investigate demonic incidents, or simply facilitating Soul Reaper missions in the Living World.

His Lieutenant’s badge bears their divisions floral symbol (a jasmine blossom)

*Aurora:

is the Diacritical Operations Commander (Lady in charge ). She has developed a strong aptitude for Hogokanzei, along with a well-practiced Zanpakuto (at this point, she has mastered her Bankai, as has Friday and Nephir Ori; Sabado is still working at his, and Pichi hasn’t explored the possibility he might have one)

Her haori is embossed with the Diacritical Floral Symbol in the rhombus (her power limit symbol is on her right hip ;D). **NOTE** She doesn’t wear her haori often (since she is not a full-time Captain, but only acknowledged at Captain status) Primarily, it is donned for official business, and significant events.

She follows after Nephir Ori and Daphne in her skills with Hogokanzei, but her abilities are augmented by a demonic implement she has been entrusted by the Ori house. It is stored on her Zanpakuto’s scabbard.

*Nephir Ori:

is the foremost wielder of Hogokanzei, and a formidable combatant otherwise. He would have been the appointed Commander (by preference of Central 46) but he keeps to his duties as the Head of the Kido Department at the Shino Academy where he teaches every day.

He will join his colleagues whenever his presence is needed, but stays at the school grounds for the most part. Like Aurora, he too has a demonic implement that bolsters his facility with Hogokanzei

*Pichi Kin:

is the newest practitioner of Hogokanzei. Because of his own skills in hand-to-hand combat, and the close-range abilities of his Zanpakuto, he was incited to join their unit. He’s taken to it quickly, and avidly trains (he is close behind Friday, in his active duty participation)
