Crime and Punishment - Fyodor Dostoevsky - Part 1 Chapter 5
I listen to free audiobooks from librivox.org whilst at work (cleaner of industrial sites and offices) and Dostoevsky is my fave so far, damn he pulls tears from me so I am glad I work alone. A heavy chapter featuring a dream/memory of the main character Ruskolnikov however I noticed a similar note in 'Brothers Karamazov' part 5 chapter 4 that lead me to a suspicion that may be a legit memory of the author.
Basically a weak horse is whipped/lashed heavily by drunks with little reason before being beaten to death by its owner before a child's eyes (Ruskolnikov) though not purposefully, all because it is too weak to meet the challenge of pulling a heavy cartload of drunks from a public house (pub i guess). Though I have no proof nor do I care too, listening to the chapter is ... an experience when believing it to be truth and hell its a wide world so it has happened.
Mixed Media - Great book by the way, Brothers Karamazov is still top dog for me but.
