Description
Hiatus is over, sorry about the wait, but I do have some bad news. This month has made it pretty clear I don't have the free time I had in the winter. In the summer, my store is open six days a week instead of 5. As such I have significantly less time to work on hobby projects such as this. As such, I am going to have to go back to the one a week thing until the end of the summer and I return to working 5 days a week. I'm very sorry but I don't see much option, I hope you guys understand. The good news is I will try to make longer comics to hopefully make up for the difference. I can't promise that goal will work out but that is what I am going to shoot for. Onto the comic itself. This is the first page with the new coloring and shading style and I think it looks a lot better. Think the characters pop out more and the whole thing looks warmer and less grey, especially on warm colors like Shadow's rings and the Nymphia's eyes. Very happy with it myself. So we continue with this and find out one of the differences between Solar and Shadow right here, Shadow has a human friend. I've been hinting for a while that among the Eevee family, Shadow is the least close to them. He has a brother like bond with Solar but beyond that, he doesn't have the dedication to family that Solar does. Exactly why they're friends and who Dominic is will be explored further in the following pages. As you might have guessed, we will be learning quite a bit about Shadow's backstory here, Solar's and Blaze's too. As promised, Shadow hasn't gotten a lot of focus but that is about to change.
*Edit* Not sure why but half the page got cut out somehow, that's been fixed.

I am confused about something. Why does Dominik need the red band to recognize Shadow/Zack? I mean he sees it on his character, voice and behaviour, doesn't he? Or is it pointed to the moment were he can't really see who it is through the window?

The red band is easily noticeable and it would also ensure that it actually is him at the window, as only Shadow would know to go get the red bandana. It might also have just been a way to communicate, since Kitchens are often times loud and require a lot of team work, so he probably can't come out of there just any time. So he probably has some quick signals the two use, Shadow might use the Bandanna for that too.

Definitely has some inspiration from there, at least this sequence does.
Hope you enjoy it!

Nice! Good to be back, can't wait for the next one.
I appreciate you telling us your current problem, but can you promise me one thing. Although it'll Probbably not happen anytime soon: please, of you ever feel like finishing the comic to its final point of time, finish it. Don't abandon stories like other people have done because in my opinion, disrespectful to the reader as they have no idea what'll happen, unless it was purposely made to end that way. I love to the hell and back, people who write things like these otherwise I wouldn't be here and I've been furious at writers who have abandoned their project out of excuses like " lack of motivation "
i felt felt it was important to say this because the moment felt right. But I do hope you'll keep doing it, even if it takes a while ^^

Thanks.
Yeah I agree and I do understand the plight on that. I've had quite a few stories I liked just stop. I have no intention of ending them early, in the Summer I just don't have the free time I have in the winter. But if for whatever reason I do decide to quit, I'll be sure to make some kind of ending. I find that to be a slap in the face and I really do appreciate the people that stick with my work. So I'll make sure there's a conclusion. I don't see that happening though.
No problem.

Open honesty is what I tried to strive for sorry if it seemed to hurt. I've attempted to save other kinds of work with the same message only to find its been far too late as they've dropped off the face of the earth. I enjoy fan fictions far more than normal stories as they have a much wider range of creativity and open my own senses to a more broader meaning than the box they're contained in. It shares special memories within the brain of mine which I'd love to treasure forever, but just not finishing the goal just creates a state of hostility from so many unanswered questions, theories, etc. that it just becomes overwhelming. Said writers I've been mad at, I wish the story was deleted because it just takes up space for potential other users to mould the story into.
your artwork of the eeveelution's personal story is why I'm here, and I love every moment of it

No, no, I don't find it offensive or anything. Like I said, I agree with that. I don't have any intention of stopping but if for whatever reason I do end it early, I'll put a conclusion on them. I feel it be a slap in the face if the story just stopped in the middle with no conclusion. I think even a bad conclusion is better than no conclusion.
I find it interesting you like fan fiction over original work, I usually hear the opposite from people regarding the matter. Personally, I've always considered fan works a learning device, a good way to learn what works, what doesn't and adress problem areas. Like if you're not good at writing plots, you can focus on writing plots and just use cannon characters. Stuff like that. It's a major reason I don't mind playing with the art style in my comics, learn what works and what doesn't. Whereas I am very paranoid about creating a consistent art style I'm happy with for Cretaceous Isle.
Glad you like them, definitely be more of that!
