Some Prometheus fanart. This creature could be seen briefly in the latest trailer... Have no clue yet as to what it is. A proto-facehugger? EDIT: Spoilers ahead... Apparently a common worm evolved into this after being exposed to the 'black goo' coming out of the urns. It kills 2 people, then is never seen again. Yay. -_-All done using one layer, a rectangular hard brush and the smudge tool.

I remember watching Prometheus. I even remember this thing wrapping around the one guy's arm, then breaking it. It was a stupid idea that he touched it. It tried to tell him " Leave me alone".

They either evolved from Prometheus stage to their current stage, or like natural selection, Xenomorphs evolved to fit the enviroment of the planet, OR the planet had not changed therefore they remained in pre-evolution form

well, that actually makes sense... and xenomorphs, due to their... unique... methods of reproduction, get the added benefit of inheriting traits from creatures already adapted to a certain environment.

I liked the movie. But just like horror movies, you need stupid people who make stupid decisions to keep the plot moving. If the characters had any sense thin their brain, the movie would be over in 15 minutes.

Yeah, I remember thinking "ok, thats a weird shot to include unless it means something later." Then I forgot about it and was confused when those things came out. You reminded me and now it makes sense. That simple thing helped me understand half of what I was confused by.

Well, see what happened to Fifield (in regards to what the black goo would do to a human).
And yeah, the way the 'scientists' handled this situation, especially the biologist (hey, look, some kind of snake with a vagina for a face, let's keep trying to pet it after it has hissed at me 3 times) who was still terrified a few minutes ago really is one of the few things that pissed me off about this movie. Some trillion dollar mission and they take a bunch of idiots with them.
Was expecting a little more from Ridley Scott (although can't really blame him, he did what he could with the script).

Some say this is what happened to the normal earthworms when they came in contact with the black goo from the 'eggs', others say it's the pre-evolved version of the facehuggers. Anywho, you did an absoloutely wonderful job painting it. I love your style!

Thanks. Seems like it was just a regular earthworm transformed by the black goo. A 'serpent-like' form, if you will, symbolising corruption.
I'm working on some more Prometheus art as we speak, namely of a beastie shown during the final scene.
