In Toronto Canada last week (As of 23 December 2016) a man slaughtered his two sisters inΒ a mosque and is now going to prison. In western culture, Honor Killings are considered illegal. Food for thought.

This is the sad truth.
We, and by that I mean the occidental world, created the terrorists. These people have been treated like shit for so long and yet we're surprised when they show hostility. We hold part of the blame for treating them so badly for so long. Of course, this does not justify or excuse any of the terrorist acts. But what we should learn from all this is that violence can only lead to more violence.
Like I always says, a desperate people is a dangerous people.

When you hit someone, their first response is to hit back, and hate your guts whether they connect or not. Winning hearts and minds at gunpoint does not work, has never worked, will never work. Ghandi and MLK gained their moral standing from NOT fighting back, from responding to violence and abuse of power with courageous nonviolence. Of course, if the only way to deal with the real scum is to kill them, hire ninjas-they'll strike only the proper targets and leave little or no 'collateral damage' to increase resentment and the consequent blowback.

A very good poster. Unfortunately it doesn't work like that, in fact the opposite will happen, the events in Boston will lead to more bombings abroad which will lead to increased recruitment by Islamists for reprisals. If Northern Ireland is an example the cycle will keep escalating until both sides just get sick of it. Which unfortunately can take years and a much higher death toll.

Glad you understand. I wanted to say something about Boston without seeming to be unfeeling. While of course I don't condone the Boston bombings for a second, in thinking about what motivated the Tsarnaev brothers, I could not help thinking about Malcolm X's mother of all politically incorrect statements about "chickens coming home to roost" with reference to the assassination of John Kennedy.
Drone strikes in Pakistan alone have killed hundreds of innocent children and adults since the program began. It is the height of arrogance to presume that at least some people who identify with those victims aren't going to seek revenge.
Senator Dick Durbin, a Democrat, is holding hearings right now on the drone program. He's brought in witnesses from Pakistan who survived drone attacks. The Obama Administration has refused to provide any witnesses. That pretty much says it for me.
