There's a vote coming very soon on CFAA -- the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. Among the many repressive provisions of this bill, one would permit the civil forfeiture of any property used to commit a computer "crime." The proposed civil forfeiture provisions are indeed troubling. Currently, "[a]ny property, real or personal, which constitutes or is derived from proceeds traceable to a violation of [the CFAA]" is subject to civil forfeiture. But the CFAA discussion draft would expand this to include "[a]ny property ... used, or intended to be used, to commit or facilitate the commission of [a CFAA violation]." This means your computer could be seized if you access a website in violation of its ToS, even if the government doesn't even charge (let alone convict) you of any crime.

You can learn more about what else is wrong with this terrible piece of legislation here [link] and here [link] . There is a major push on this week to stop the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. Go here to get involved: [link]

I think this kinda fits in with the whole CFAA fiasco coming about now.

The IRS believes that they can read and seize your e-mail, instant messaging chat logs (Facebook, MySpace, Yahoo!, etc.), and other forms of electronic communications and that the American people enjoy "generally no privacy".

I'll link you the article: [link]

You do retro just amazingly well. I can see this on a WWII data processing center. They HAD those, BTW. Huge mechanical 'comptrometers' and punch card tabulators.

You do understand that these are all re-mixes. I take the original retro art in digital form and then edit it. I am not the designer nor illustrator of the original pieces on which mine are based. Glad you like them, nonetheless. I am constantly amazed at how appropriate these retro pieces are to contemporary issues, just with the change of a few words, and/or the modification of a graphic element or two.

They are appropriate because its the same issues now as it was then!

Different means and methods perhaps, but still the same in the end.

They're good remixes, that is about the best way to do retro.
